I keep a whistle by my phone for just this type of harrassment. Nicely said no thanks & take me off your list. Got 2nd call. Whispered a couple of sentences to get him to put the receiver tight to his ear and then let him have it with the whistle at full blast. Hung up and haven't been called back since. Been a month.

They claimed to be from my Internet Security provider service. They knew that I had recently renewed my service. Also my name address and phone number. They probably could have got that from any forms I filled out online. Tried to convince me that my security service had an error. And they were supposed to try and help me fix it from my end. They were merely looking to download a Trojan to my computer so they could steal personal information and bank account numbers. My Internet Security Service told me on the phone when I called them that they would never call a customer.

Robocall stating it can reduce my credit card rates.
I pushed a button to connect to a real person speaking in an East Indian accent.

After their pre-programmed sales pitch, I informed them I had to find my credit card, so I put the phone on mute.......For 5 minutes.

I hung up.

Seconds later, this number appeared. Telemarketer left an expletive (BLANK YOU !!!) on my answering machine.

How funny, first time this every happened.

Got this call from an male with Indian accent. He told me he is calling from Grants department in Washington DC. I immediately realized he is a defrauder, since his Phone ID showed from Big Rock, IL. I told him that I know he is a cheater and hang on the phone. Two hours later, I received a call without caller ID. I answered the phone, but other end was silent. About one hour later, my phone rang again, another Indian male talked with arrogance. "This is US government, grant department. you must answer my question". I told him "go to h**l". Then I called 630-318-4762. A voice said "That is a non-working phone number."

A woman with an accent, maybe Indian, called me from this number. Said she was with Dell. Said that when I purchased my Dell computer I also purchased one of their extended service packages for $199, and that Dell has a new policy whereby they are refunding everyone their extended service package payments back...This is obviously a scam. Not to mention I don't buy those bullshit packages for a $300 computer. I figure if a $300 Dell lasts me a year I made out. Anyhow...She pretended to connect me to her "supervisor". The "supervisor" tried to get me to press some buttons on my computer (Windows button plus the letter R) that she said would allow her to create a secure link with my computer that would allow her to refund my money. I kept asking her how it works but she couldn't really tell me. Just kept saying that I should press the buttons and she would just show me how. This makes me nervous. They must already have some personal info on me to access my computer... She also wanted me to verify a number on my computer. It was either the Service Tag number or the Express Service Code, can't remember. When I lied and told her I couldn't find it that did not seem to deter her- She really wanted me to press the Windows button plus the letter R together. I told her a had customers and had to call her back. She seemed pissed and gave me some bogus number (I tried calling it and it was no longer in service) and hung up on me.

Lady with thick Indian accent called me (I could hear other telemarketers in the background - they must've been busy scamming a lot of other people), stating that I was 1 of 1,500 people chosen to receive a federal grant from Washington, DC (even though the number she was calling me from was registered in Bick Rock, IL) and that money would be sent to my debit/credit card, wired to my checking/savings bank account, or sent to me by Western Union MoneyGram/Wal-Mart. I told her I wanted it mailed by check, and she said it wasn't an option and was rude to me, when I asked her about the MoneyGram option and wanted to know more information. She refused to provide me with more information and kept asking me "you don't know what MoneyGram is?" She told me I would have to speak with her Manager, gave me a money approval id number and then hung up on me. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! Don't buy into anything these people say! They are only trying to get your personal information. Do not trust them!!!

I told the last one that called I'd report them to police as a scam if they kept calling to which he told me that I could suck his **** and he was calling the cops on ME for being a prostitute without a permit. I kindly told him that the US doesn't give permits to hookers. I can't make this stuff up, lol.

Same situation has happened to me here today 3 times. I do not answer, but a different number called the other night and it was an automated call or "mechanical" type of call stating that I had committed fraud against the IRS and to call such and such number which is total bs. I don't answer numbers that I don't know USUALLY, but I did after the caller called repeatedly over and over within one hour. I have Verizon, how are these idiots getting our numbers?? Called me from Big Rock, IL asking about my personal computer. He actually represented that he was from "the Windows helpdesk." I asked, "wouldn't someone who represents Windows be working for Microsoft? Do you work for Microsoft?" At first he said "yes," then backed off and said no, he was not from Microsoft, and mumbled something else (in an Indian accent). I told him "this sounds fishy" (I was being nice) and he responded, "no, this isn't fishy at all." When I asked for the name of his company, he hung up on me.

I see from this page that he has been doing this for three years. Apparently some people actually fall for this, or he has just been completely wasting his time for kicks. Somebody put this guy in jail!

The same man with a thick accent has been calling me for nearly 2 years, always from and unknown number until TODAY when he called from this number. I have told him it was the wrong number, told him I would report them, told him I was on the do not call list, told him to f*ck off and told them to stop calling. I've also fed into it a time or 2 just for fun. His excuse is the computer software thing, "open up your computer, ma'am". I have asked for a number to call back, they hang up. I've asked for a supervisor, they hang up. It's been almost 2 years and I am at my wits end. I will go weeks without a call, then get 6 in one day.
