Said he was with MasterCard, Visa, Discover rate reduction desk. Would not give me any specific info. When I tried to ask him to put us on his Do Not Call List, he hung up on me. Very sick and tired of getting these calls from recordings and rude people who hang up on you! We are on the national Do Not Call List, but it's not doing any good it seems.

Robo call recorded 21 August 2013 ("Lower your rate...second and final notice..." )

Caller ID: "V082115140900182155" (derived from date and time so no two people see the same CID)

Also called recently from: (616) 980-2030 | (616) 613-2228 | (616) 613-2199 | (215) 383-3414 | (415) 333-9999

I wish I had a quarter for every time a robo call voice said "...this is your second and final notice..." This one's so stupid, yet people fall for it. Don't answer your phone, people, if you don't recognize the number.

"<female voice>This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts. This is your second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. Press 1 now to find out the terms conditions and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. So press 1 now to take advantage of this today."

Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recorded robo call on my Spam Calls web page:

These rude callers continue to call despite being on the Do Not Call list and filing complaints about their callers. I have a new solution to my problem. I am buying the loudest whistle Wal-Mart has and next time they call, I am blowing it full steam into the phone. Let's see if they get the message.

Bank Card Services. Very similar to the "Rachel from Cardholder Services" from A+ Financial Center, LLC aka Accelerated Financial Centers, LLC aka; Accelerated Accounting Services that was charged by the FTC with misleading consumers about their services, calling phone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry, illegally collecting up-front fees, and making illegal robocalls. The FTC imposed a judgment of $9,238,155 in August of 2013. It seems more than coincidental that "your second and final notice to lower interest" calls began just as "Rachel" calls were tapering off. I would be very surprised if "Cardholder Services" and "Bank Card Services" were not related ventures. Rather than complaining to the FCC I recommend filling out a Do Not Call online complaint at the FTC website. They seem to be far more effective with predatory phone scammers. Also, it is Very Important that you file the FTC complaint as soon as possible after the call as this "company" changes the displayed phone number on a regular basis.

These people are crooks. They already committing a crime by attempting to scam you out of your personal/financial information, so why would they care diddly about the DNC lists, either federal or state? They use automation to dial numbers around the country, so your/our number comes up almost randomly, although they might have a special little bucket for folks who've picked up the phone. REPUTABLE businesses, for the most part, do access the lists and do follow the rules. I just wish we could include charities and the politicos who are not required to use the lists.

They won't say anything when the phone is answered, thus, am unable to ask to be taken off their calling list. According to several complaints above though, it's a site indicating that there is a problem with your credit card. I've recently paid all mine off, so there are no legitimate problems. According to others they also do not indicate which card they are calling in reference to. Another person indicated that it says it's your 2nd and final call to reduce your credit card interest rate and payments. So, I've reported it at: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

So it has started again. I'm on the DoNotCall list (it's hard to say that without snickering, isn't it?), but it seems that every few months we get waves of these calls that start randomly, last several weeks and then stop abruptly. Apparently, this one is a recycled version of the "Card Services" scam??

As a rule I don't answer any call I don't recognize, but since the telemarketers and I are 'old friends', occasionally I will answer and "talk" to one of the idiots at the other end and waste their time just for amusement.
When I sense that they have caught on that I'm not really going to buy anything, before they can hang up, I blow a whistle, air horn or some other obnoxiously loud noise into the phone. Very-high frequency noises seem to work best at annoying them.

Repeating this a few times in a row seems to get my number placed in a "time out". I have also played recordings of the 3-tone "out of service" message several calls in a row to get temporarily removed, but it seems you have to catch at least 3 calls in a row to make that one work.

the calls are coming from a number that is supposed to be an incoming only like, the scamsters have connected a device to make it outgoing only so that they can call people all they wany anf it never costs them anything. the company they bpught the phone number from only makes money on incoming calls that is recieved on the line. so call that number back (yes tpu will get a recording) press 9 twice to have the menu repeated then press three and just set the phone down. it will record like a 10 min message. this will cost the scam company lots of money, especially if we all do this at least once a day

I ended up picking up the phone because I recognized the SAME number that I have been getting over and over!!! I had picked up before but there was no indication or instruction on how to remove my number (EVEN THOUGH I AM ON THE NO-CALL LIST). This time when they called today, I picked up and entered the number so that I could actually talk with a person. When I asked to be removed from their list, I was immediately hung up on. I then called back the number and there is a prompt to remove your number; however, it is a long-distance number and I called from my cell phone. So in order to be removed from this number, I would have to spend the money on a long-distance call from my home number so it can recognize it. THAT IS ABSURB!!!

Rec'd Call from the number. Using the info above, contacted LUCRE,Inc. and told that that I was receiving the calls and wanted them to stop. The person I was talking to informed me that they (LUCRE) was not making the calls, they were being made by one of their clients. I informed him that I did not care who was making the calls but since the unwanted calls were coming from a client, I wanted the calls to stop. He took my phone number and told me that the calls "should" stop. When pushed about "should" he changed it to "will not" receive any more calls.

Recommendation - everyone who receives a call would call LUCRE at (616) 361-0128. Eventually, they should get the word!!!

DO NOT PICK UP!!! Why would anyone answer an unknown long distance number??? And NEVER call back! If you do, you are "doomed" to repeated calls. NEVER engage them in conversation OR ask to be "removed"! That will put you on a list of "good numbers" they can sell every other illegal caller so they can call you, too.

VOIP internet phone service allows scammers all over the world to call us using a "spoofed" (fake) caller I.D.s If you block one number they will just "spoof" another one. Many are in a foreign country. Just ignore them!!! And don't use your name on answering machine or voicemail. Just use your phone number.

Expensive call-blockers will not stop them (new "spoofed" numbers). Reporting them to the gov't. will not stop them (foreign soil). And asking them to be removed only makes it WORSE. It's an epidemic...anyone have an answer?
