Said he was with MasterCard, Visa, Discover rate reduction desk. Would not give me any specific info. When I tried to ask him to put us on his Do Not Call List, he hung up on me. Very sick and tired of getting these calls from recordings and rude people who hang up on you! We are on the national Do Not Call List, but it's not doing any good it seems.
One of numerous calls I get from illegal telemktrs. even tho' all my #'s are on donotcall list. If you are not, go to:
if you ARE on DNC list go here:
If you don't recognize the number DON'T ANSWER. IF you do hang up immediately. "The only problem with common sense is that it's not very common." Mark Twain
Said he was with my credit card company and my account had problems. when i asked him to prove it he hung up on me. When I called the number back I got a recording saying that my number would be removed from there data base and they hung up on me.
The are using a recorded message when they call which is against the law. If you are on the do-not-call list you can report them at 1-888-382-1222.
I know some people say the DNC does not work, but it won't unless we all report these calls. Sometimes it does take a while, but since I signed up about 6 years ago the calls on our two lines have gone from maybe 5-6 calls a month to 3-4 calls a year.
These people are running a scam. Notice that they say "your credit card," but never identify WHAT credit card. They don't say, for example, "your Capital One Visa card account ending in 1234."
If a bank was actually willing to reduce your rate, they wouldn't do it through a third party; they'd just do it. Don't fall for this transparent attempt to steal your credit card information.
Robo call recorded 21 August 2013 ("Lower your rate...second and final notice..." )
Caller ID: "V082115140900182155" (derived from date and time so no two people see the same CID)
Also called recently from: (616) 980-2030 | (616) 613-2228 | (616) 613-2199 | (215) 383-3414 | (415) 333-9999
I wish I had a quarter for every time a robo call voice said "...this is your second and final notice..." This one's so stupid, yet people fall for it. Don't answer your phone, people, if you don't recognize the number.
"<female voice>This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts. This is your second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. Press 1 now to find out the terms conditions and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. So press 1 now to take advantage of this today."

These rude callers continue to call despite being on the Do Not Call list and filing complaints about their callers. I have a new solution to my problem. I am buying the loudest whistle Wal-Mart has and next time they call, I am blowing it full steam into the phone. Let's see if they get the message.
Don't bother with whistles and loud remarks and hitting keys while they speal. The calls are robo-calls and there is no one there to hear it or record it. Don't press 1 or any other digit because they can then claim you accepted their call and it isn't a violation of the DNC rules. DO REPORT THE CALL TO DNC as the more reports, the more the government might actually do something about them.
I continue to receive calls from this #. When I press #1 to speak with somoene, they are rude. Today I pressed #1 and spoke with Frank - I asked him what company he was calling from - he said CMA. I told him he is now the 5th person that I have told to take me off their calling list - he was rude and said there is no way I can be taken off their calling list.
