Robo call recorded 06 August 2013 ("Lower your rate...second and final call" )

Caller ID: "Zeeland, MI"

I wish I had a quarter for every time a robo call voice said "...this is your second and final warning..." This one's so stupid, yet people fall for it. Don't answer your phone, people, if you don't recognize the number.

"<female voice>This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts. This is your second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. Press 1 now to find out the terms conditions and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. So press 1 now to take advantage of this today."

Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recorded robo call on my Spam Calls web page:

This company calls numbers on the do not call registry without authorization or a pre-existing relationship (which is illegal). They then play a recorded message without an operator on the line (which is also illegal). The recorded message is clearly a scam claiming (falsely) that this is the second (not second) and final (not final) notice that you are eligible for a credit card rate reduction. When you get through to an operator, the operator refuses to provide a phone number (they are required by law to provide this when asked), and if you ask for a physical address (also required by law) they hang up on you. If their illegal pre-recorded message does not clearly indicate that this is a scam, their refusal to provide basic contact information definitely proves them to be a scam...

These people are tying to find someone stupid enough to give their personal information to a stranger in hopes of getting a lower interest rate. It doesn't do any good to complain about these calls to the FCC. Even if the FCC were to do something about it, the penalties are not harsh enough to make them stop. They use a technique called "switch number" which is for phone hobbyists. I don't know what a phone hobbyist is, do you? The only way to make them stop is for Congress to pass a law making this 'switch number' technique illegal with penalties that will get their attention. Write to your Congressman and complain EVERY TIME you get one of these calls. Congress is not doing anything else these days, they may as well get us out of this h**l.

Same as other comments. recorded credit message then press 1 to speak to someone. I did just to find out who they are. When they answered and I asked, they hung up on me. I report all calls like this to the FCC and the national Do Not Call registry using their online forms:

They call here at least twice a week sometimes more. I always press 1 to speak to an agent and tell them that I AM NOT interested in anything they have to say and to please remove my number from their call list. I have done this many times and yet still receive calls. My phone number is also on the national "do not call" registry. They are very rude and hang up on you in the middle of what you are saying even when you try to be nice. I gave up on the nice...

Caller name: Bank Card Services / Credit Management Associates

Caller type: Telemarketer

/ This number (616-980-2063) has been calling my home phone for months, twice a day typically on business days.
/ Whether I press "1" to agree to their offer or not, they hang up on me.
/ Today I got someone on the phone, which is how I got the confirmation that it is Credit Mgmt Associates.
/ But the girl hung up on me as soon as I asked for a supervisor. And she had no ability to remove my number, though it's nice that she emphathised with my plight.
/ When you call 616-980-2063, you do get an option to have your number removed from their system, but they grab the number you called on and then disconnect the line. You don't get to enter it. And I cannot call from my local-only home phone.
/ You also get an option to speak to a rep, but it always goes to voicemail. I left my home phone information and my intentions. I also made it clear that I will turn this over to the Attorney General in both Michigan and Texas if a single call is received after a month has passed.
/ I spoke with a few other companies acronym'd "CMA". They used their collections dept resources to confirm that Bank Card Services (as it appears on the caller ID) is a shady harasser.

This company is the most incessant robot caller I have ever dealt with. Do not make the mistake of hoping they will go away. They won't. You will have to take some kind of action. I have everything documented and I look forward to submitting this to the Attorney General if they bother me again beyond the window I have afforded them. A class action lawsuit would be pretty easy at this point.

Same recording I've received many times from various phone numbers in Zeeland, Mich. -- 2nd and final offer to lower credit card interest rates through the federal program. I hung up in the middle of the spiel and immediately the phone range again from the same number with a continuation of the recording.

I've reported them many times both here and through the DNC Registry.

Where do these callers come from? They are driving me nuts This number calls 3 or 4 times a week. Today first call at 12:14 pm. I've quit answering. Most of these calls are prerecorded messages that start out something like this" Do you know there is a home break-in every two minutes?" Or "the FBI reports that" bla, bla, bla.
Whoever is sending these robo calls might say it is not trying to sell anything, but I didn't fall off anybody's turnip truck and hit my head on the ground!!

This number called one of my relatives, who was told about lowering her interest rate if she gave them her credit card number. She did and was later asked for another card number. They then passed her along to other people who congratulated her and stated that they had to charge $400 in order to lower her interest rate. At that time she stated she no longer wanted the service and a rude man mimicked her, called her a moron, and hung up.

I'm assuming this is a repeated call from telemarketing, trying to sell:

Home Protection from Burglary Systems
Home Alert (Health) System Service
Lower all your credit card interest

I get all of these calls constantly, and they just keep changing the caller ID, and location. There is no stopping these nuance calls.

Also, today "Newt Gingrich", and "Ann Coulter" (recordings) did political calls, and as soon as I heard each name, I quickly hung up on the two MORONS.

Ahhhh, to be back to a day of no telemarketers, or crooked republicans bothering me several times a day. I'll keep gathering info, and report, report, report!
