People keep wondering why the national Do Not Call list "doesn't work" It does work. Here's how it works: The federal government set up the DNC list to reward you with a bounty when you sue perpetrators who call you when you're on the DNC list or call you with an automatic dialing and announcing device (ATDS), also known as a robocaller. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Title 47 U.S.C. ยง 227, you can get $500 to $1,500 per call if they call you when you're on the DNC list, and twice that (yes, up to $3,000 per call!) if they robocall you. In most states, you can sue them in small claims court, which makes it especially easy. All you have to do is show the judge your phone records, and better yet, if it's legal in your state (check your state's phone-recording laws) play the phone recording for the judge that shows that this was a robocall, which gives you the double bounty: $1,000 to $3,000 per call. In some states, you can get up to $4,500 PER CALL! But first, YOU HAVE TO SUE THEM! It's not rocket science, especially if you can do it small-claims court, so some non-lawyers actually make a living suing these telemarketer perps. If enough people sue them, they'll quit calling people. Not until then, alas. So quit complaining and haul these perps into court!

We are continually getting these ro-bo telemarketing calls, though we are and have been on the DO NOT CALL registry for over 8 years. WHY ? How does the telemarketer get away with it? What good is it to have a Do Not Call registry if it doesn't work?
I'm frustrated with having to continually look up these numbers and add them to my blocked call list. Argggghhh!

This call did not have a "live" person so it was one of the deceptive ones that many scam artists are using. I did not realize it at the beginning but once I did I hung up

Welcome to my list of organizations I will make sure i nor friends NEVER donate to.
Your campaign is backfiring. By calling at all hours, playing a recording that takes over the phone -- preventing other outgoing calls for 3 minutes + -- you are abusing the lines and causing danger to me and my family. Abducting the dial tone is dangerous.
Reporting to ALL federal and local agencies - social media and more.

Get a reputable campaign to be a true organization of good. You should not need to stoop so low.

They called and asked for my husband, I said he wasn't home and asked to take a message. She said she could talk to me and asked if I would answer a 4 question survey. When I asked her to explain who she was and who she was affiliated with she claimed "she was having a hard time hearing me" and "would have a manager call back" I tried to talk to her some more and she hung up. I called the number back and was given the option to be taken off their call list. I pushed 1 to be taken off the list an was told it could take up the 30 days to be taken off their list. Bulls*it!

keep coming. I don't pick up the phone when I do not know who is

I also got a call this morning. I accidentally answered the phone, as I was trying to press the OFF button to silence the ringer. She asked if I wanted to take a short survey so I said fine. What she said sounded reasonable as I am concerned about TV viewing with my children and strictly monitor all of their tv and internet. But then she got to the press 9 thing and I did, I dont know why!! now its 530 pm and I am regretting it, so I looked the number back up on my caller ID and searched it online and called them. I spoke with a "Melissa" in Cust SVC and asked that my request to rescind the "9" be honored. Who knows if it will.. But they dont really have any personal info of mine besides my phone # so I dont know what will happen.

From Telephone # 623-295-2424..July 10, 2015 @ 8:24 A. M. EST.
Same spill as Anonymous Nov. 21, 2013.
Caller ID showed LifeGiving Moments. I answered and caller asked for my spouse by his first name. When I advised he wasn't available, caller began to speak to me and asked for permission to give 4-question survey. I realized that this was actually a very sophisticated robo-call and gave permission to get further information for complaint. Questions related to child-appropriate viewing on platforms other than TV and questioning desire of "parents and grandparents" to get "rating" information similar to TV/movie ratings. After last question (I answered "yes" to all), caller thanked me for "agreeing with us" and asking for permission for someone from "Stepping Stones" to call, ID'g them as "supporters of our efforts."

This was a fun call. I immediately suspected that I was talking to a female computer voice, so I asked "Are you a robot?" After a pause, she assured me that she was a real person, and started up her sales pitch. I said that if she was real, then she could tell me the president's name. Another pause, and then she laughed and started up the sales pitch again. I asked again for the president's name, and she chuckled and ignored the question. I pressed again for the name, and then her programming sent to to the AbortCall routine, and she told me to have a good day, and hung up. I hope she calls again, so I can see if I can get her into an endless loop.

They want you to think you're talking to a real person, but it's really a jukebox playing back prerecorded sentences the computer thinks are relevant based on your responses.

She asked, "Do you want control over what your kids watch?"
I answered, "Sandwich saxophone airport biscuit bird feeder."

She chuckled and said, "All I'm asking is whether you want to be able to control what kinds of things your kids watch."
I answered, "It's the medicine track meet that winds it way up those graham cracker choices."

She apologized, said that she was having trouble hearing me, and said that she would have her manager call me back on a better phone line.

Received a call from this local number. They asked for my husband by his first name. I replied he was not available & the female caller said she could talk to either him or to me. She asked a 4 question survey about tv, video, computer, & any other source of a child's 10 hours a day viewing/ playing time. Then she asked me to do an electronic signature to their petition to the movie, tv, & video game companies to have censorship of content with ratings for ages of viewers. I was supposed to press the number 9 key on my phone to do the signature & then she would talk to me more. At this point I pressed the off key instead of the number 9. I imagine that the action of the 9 key would trigger phone charges instead of being an electronic signature.
