Started receiving this robo call after I left Verizon and took my phone # with me. The caller says I must go to www.vzw.371.com to collect money owed to me. I have now received this call at least 3-4 times a week at all hours of the day on my new phone w/my new carrier. Verizon denies any association with this robo call.

They call constantly stating there has been a change in the status of my account. When I try to return the call, a recorded message comes on and says the message has expiired. I called the officia Verizon number in my area. Needless to say, there was no change in my status.

I received identical phone calls and text messages as the other folks here. I called VZW at their actual 1-800 number and they told me they are aware of this problem. I also filed a complaint here: https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088G You should do the same.

Caller ID comes in as a Rochester, NY number of 585-371-3167, listed as American red cross on the caller ID, but voicemail said it was for Verizon Wireless, must be a scam as others have said. Don't call 1-800-249-2462 as the voicemail said. That number also comes up on the web as a scam.

If you think there has been a violation of the robocalls rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088C. While the FCC cannot award monetary or other damages to consumers, filing complaints allows the Commission to investigate violators. However, in some states you are allowed to file suits against telemarketers and receive monetary damages for violations of these rules.

I called verizon (the real number) and they confirmed that my account was up to date. So I'm pretty sure this is a scam.

This Verizon Wireless' automated collections system, they are trying to collect a debt. These calls are made when a bill is two months overdue. If you call the 800 number, you get a message to that effect with a another number to call to pay it. Or just use *226 on your phone and follow the prompts, the calls will stop when you pay your bill, or at least the old portion of it.

The ID just said Unknown from NY. They left a message that they were from Verizon and called for my family member. In the message they insisted I needed to call them back within 24 hrs due to account changes I know I did not make.

Immediately after getting the voicemail I received a text from 677-53 also claiming to be a free message from Verizon and informing me to call 800-249-2462 within 24 hours.
