Caller name: Missouri Call
Caller type: Debt Collector
This is a spoof call, which is transferred by router located in southeast Missouri, from some other phone number and locality. These collection agencies skirt the law (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) by using spoofed numbers to try to get you to answer and to harass you, even though YOU may not even be the person they are looking for. That way, if you complain, it cannot be easily traced back to them. I have my home communications system set up to take care of this behavior.
Caller type: Unknown
Have called back to back 4 times this morning, called several times last night as well & they keep changing numbers but the same area code in MO. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know or recognize. They never leave a message - not that I'd check it anyway. My number is on the National Do Not Call List, does that not exist or apply any more?
Caller name: V42310314505
Caller type: Telemarketer
This number keeps calling us and it's a recorded message talking about "If you are a senior citizen...." We've never heard the entire message as we have always hung up, but we keep getting the call. We've gotten this call for a few months now.
Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster
Some guy that sounded like he was from India trying to sell a medical alert system. He caught me at a bad time and I really let him have it over the phone. Does the "do not call list" even exist anymore?
