Caller type: Unknown

Called at least three times in one day. Never any party on the other line-- just background noise and occasional beeping. Does not respond when prompted. After about ten seconds, another loud beep sounds and a recorded voice says, "GOODBYE". Then the call disconnects. Annoying, to say the least.

Foreign female Caller said someone was trying to hack our computer license, wanted us to turn on the computer and follow their instructions. We told her no and hung up, she immediately called right back. Said that if we didn't do what she said our computer license would be revoked ! Hung up on her again. An hour later same number called but no one was there when we answered.

This number called stating they were with Windows Support. The lady had a heavy accent, possibly Indian. She tried to get me to go to the run dialog box and type in some numbers. I put her on hold and looked on google to see if this was a scam. It was. I went back on the line and told her that I found that Windows nor Microsoft would ever contact me unless I asked them for Technical Support. She insisted that I could verify her information. I told her that I was not comfortable with doing anything like this and that I would talk to my son when he came home form work as he was more computer savvy than I. She said she would call back at 5PM. We'll see if she does.

Male with Phillipino accent claimed to be from Microsoft and claimed my Windows operating system had been hacked and was causing security problems. He could not give an email address for my account and hung up when I told him I did not use windows operating systems. He seemed to know little about computers for an alleged microsoft rep. and would not give a name. My computers are working fine.

It was a foreign owned company. BBB tried to contact and mail correspondence was returned as undeliverable. My caller was Indian/ Pakistani?

Claiming to be from Microsoft, even gave a fake employee # when requested, and that my computer was hacked. I have had two calls and I like to play with these guys to find out what they are doing. The supposed Microsoft rep wants you to delete the csrss.exe file because he says it is a hacker file. Do some research! Any Windows operating system newer than 2000 uses this file in many ways as a communicator for several critical operating systems within your computer. If removed, you will have no more computer and see the "blue screen of death". They only way it is a hacker is if you find this file outside of the regular files list and the name slightly changed. Either way Norton or any other protection you have on your computer easily finds and removes any hacker/malware files attached to this address as it is so important that is a large focus of their protection software. Just keep reporting them, hopefully someone shuts them down.
P.S. They may call from another # it is 10000000000

Same as everyone, caller has heavy accent, claiming he is from "Windows" he will very reluctantly say Microsoft. but only after prodding who makes windows. Wanted to show me that there are things wrong with my computer, and he will show me if I open event viewer.
At that point I hung up. 2 minutes later he called back trying me to go through the same script. I told him I know he's not from Windows and there's nothing wrong with my computer, and he is just trying to load my computer with a virus. and told him not to call my phone again. He told me to go to h**l.
Got another call from the number an hour later and no one responded.
How do we get this shut down?

Received the same call...my computer was sending this "Microsoft tech" many, many viruses and I needed to log onto my computer and follow his prompts so they can repair it. I "pretended" to go along for 18 minutes (I had the time) and recorded this man tring to hack into my computer. Then I revealed that he was a scammer. He was not happy and told me I had no brain (he really said that). I told him he was a thief and the 18 minutes I took from him was 18 minutes less than he had to scam someone else (I must admit I did enjoy him navagating me through the process all the while he thought I was actually doing the prompts on my computer). You could a,out hear him salivating through the phone he was sooo close to all my banking and credit card information. Perhaps if more people subjected them to this, they'd think twice as it wouldn't be as profitable scam wise of course.

This was fun, he had a very heavy accent and I played dumb, asked him to repeat things many times, as if I didn't understand him and when "he" asked me to tell him what was on my screen each prompt (I wasn't actually sitting at my computer) I told him "you're from Microsoft, you said you can see my computer, YOU tell me what it says, I'm not going to tell you". He was frustrated but I enjoyed the ignorance and wasting so much of his time.
I do notice hat this # calls me a lot, they called again today but silence then they hang up. I wish I knew what to do to make them stop.

Third time through I cut him off and told him I would hunt him down and put him back in the taxicab he should be in. He was trying to be cool about it, so I told him that I received a call from upstate New York with the same story line. He played dumb, so I told him I would hunt him down and if he didn't like the taxicab I would put him in a coffin. The 'hung up on you' tone followed.

Called and hung up before I even answered the phone. They have called before and if I accidentally answer, I just don't give them time to say a word before I either say "don't call me again" or just hang up. Doing this never gives them the opportunity to be abusive as others on this forum mention. Some telephone company in the US must be allowing these jackasses to purchase an account in order for them to have a number with a US area code. The FCC should look into that.
