The number we're receiving is 518-545-4545 but the caller did give me their real call back number of 1-888-391-0499 and mentioned he's at a call center(haven't tried calling it yet). He wants my Nat Grid account number in order to provide us a rebate check...not giving them the number until they provide written documentation of their effort.
Caller name: SBR Energy
Received call from SBR energy claiming that I received information on my last bill that they would become my energy supplier for both electricity and gas. I indicated that I had no relationship with this company and that National Grid was my electric supplier and that I had no intention of changing. Caller became hostile and started yelling at me at which point I terminated the call. I suspect she did not like that I indicated she was calling from a "boiler room" operation. But indeed that is what it was.
SBR energy is a SCAM.....My electric and gas supplier charges went just about doubled starting with my first bill from National Grid with SBR s the supplier. The 15% they offer doesn't even come close to bringing the cost lower than National Grid charges. I have read these posts and i will be calling National Grid in the morning to reverse this damage and put a block on my account. What ever happened to good Ole hard work and EARNING your money for a living. These b******s are all about SCAMMING people out of their hard earned money to make them selves a living....and they hide like cowards behind telephones in boiler room operations. the real world and real work is too much for them!!!!
Received calls on 8/1 & 8/2 from this number 518-737-3377...no one there upon answering. Redialed number and recording says out of service. Received call from 518-393-9933 on 7/31...same thing...no answer and when redialed, numer out of service. Received unknown call on 8/7 from rep. when name, ID # saying required by State to inform National Grid cusomers that they can no longer supply energy and am elgilble for 15% rebate for last 12 months. Spent 18 mins. on phone with him...I was given names, phone numbers, ID numbers, and verification number, so I gave account # after refusing a couple of times and I was reassured this was all being recorded. Our call was cut off soon after he called on their end and seconds later, the number 518-443-4434 came up. After I had answered questions (with guidance from the caller) from a SBR recording saying yes to their supplying us, I called the 518-443-4434 number that I had received the returned call on after being cut off from the unknown number and it said number out of service. I was very suspicious and immediately called National Grid and discovered that they still could be our energy supplier and that I had been lied to. So we put a block on our account preventing another supplier from taking over. What is going on with these 518 numbers and being out of service when trying to call them back???? I received 2 more calls from the 518-443-4434 number after talking to this guy for 18 minutes and of course, no one was there when I picked up, I suspect these three 518 numbers are all connected to this SBR energy supplier somehow who are using smooth talking sales people in call centers (he actually admitted it was from a call center when I questioned why the number came up as unknown and then when he called back, it came from the out of service number 518-443-4434!)

SBR is using the local area code so people will answer the phone. They are high powered sales people that will not take no for an answer. Their catch is that they will send you a 15% rebate check on the energy you used after one year if you sign over to SBR. My question to them was "where is this 15% coming from?".Tthey couldn't answer the question. They must be charging more during the year to give me a rebate check at the end. I'm staying with IGS, my original supplier.

SBR Enery Delivery Service Scam!
Believe this is the same number we received a call from. Finally decided to give it a try, delivery Service cost savings and a 15% rebate at end of year Sounds Good!NOT, received our first bills, Delivery Charges from SBR were just under 50% higher than National Grid. When called and questioned they said that the delivery charges were as posted $0.10 Kwh. National Grid had never been more than $0.072 Kwh in any of our previous bills. Two Hours later on the phone with the public service commision & SBR, & National Grid a complaint is filed SBR account cancelled and National Grid back as service supplier with a block on the account.
DO NOT GO WITH SBR, if you want what they CLAIM on their web site "A Green Energy Supplier" that is one thing if your willing to pay higher prices for GREEN Energy, if you are not, Do not get caught up in their Pricing SCAM!
