User Complaints for 516-409-5490

Caller name: automated

It was an automated message that said it was from the Civil Investigations Unit. offices of National Lien Processors.

A complaint was filed against me with a pursuant claim affidavit of an 8 digit no with a dash in it. The automated message I was named a respondent in which a court action which I or my attorney must appear in 24-48 hrs. That I should forward this information to my attorney. 561-409-5490.

-**I called my county's Clerk Of Courts, The Criminal Justice Center, and both stated that it sounded suspicious. 1. Without hearing the automated message that if I did have some law suit against me, meaning being sued; you should be served papers. (If you are not found to be served they can put it i the paper for 30 days if legit) 2. Your name and court affidavit file should be able to be looked up (nothing was there under my name and that file didn't exist) and 3. They need to tell you what county! Without any of that it is suspicious. By the way; 516-409-5490 is out of Wanta NY area. I live almost 1500 miles away.

same as all above. total scam. even if you owe money to creditors and this kind of call freaks you out, do not let it. This is a scam. They're using the same case number on each call, duh. Also, as others have stated, must be delivered to you in writing. just block the call and move on with your life. It is sad with all that creativity they can't find an honest way to make money. Losers.

Caller name: No name given except "Civil Investigations Unit"

Ditto to all of the above!! This call freaked me out for a split second, but thank god I have a little bit of knowledge of the legal system and knew that if I was being taken to court for ANYTHING they wouldn't be notifying me vai telephone from across the country! What infuriates me more than them wasting my time is the thought of them doing this to someone who doesn't have the knowledge of the legal system or perhaps an elderly person who may think it is a legitimate call. This number (516-409-5490) has been calling me for three days, leaving the same message. Absolutely ridiculous.

My ex-wife received a voicemail stating that I had civil legal action and restraining order, and to have me or my lawyer call them in 24-48 hrs". I immediately knew something was fishy. Restraining orders are served by law enforcement, and the phone number (516-490-5490) is from the east coast. I'm 2000 miles away.. I know that I have a debt in collections, and the collection agency used some real trick tactics last time with a former employer to track me down. Fortunately, in my jurisdiction, a one-party consent to record a conversation is in effect. I can record and legally use any conversation between ME and any other party, without any notice to that party. I record them all!

Caller name: Jasmine Thompson

I received this same message today. Jasmine Thompson stated that she is a Special Investigator, and that me or my attorney needed to respond within 24-48hrs to keep further court actions against me. And every word that was said as in the above posts. This c**p caught me off guard to day after 4pmest while at work. Very unsettling I must say. I know that my blood pressure went sky rocket high until I went to talking to myself about how could this be? I live in Georgia, and if I was being sued, all they would have to do is serve me, and a phone call wouldn't be necessary. I will check on Monday to see what can be done. Today is August 23, 2013.

Called trying to collect, but had wrong name because we use intials not first names on our phone records. Same deal though. Gave the 561-409-5490, which shows to be in Florida, to call to get our phone number removed from the calling list. I am no where near Florida. This has to be one of those scams to scare people and get them to send the money or to get information from you so they can scam another way.

Please note, this EXACT same scam is coming from 561-409-5490...so they're using different numbers. Also, I am under the assumption that they are buying our information from some company we must legitimately be doing business with. I say that because I started getting these calls a few years ago. THe calls finally stopped but I have a completely different phone number, now. So who are they buying our info from? They also called my sister and we don't even live in the same state! You can easily Google someone's name and find out their family's names, too. I'm surprised they haven't called my husband lol! Jerks.

Got the same call, same stuff about "A complaint was filed against me with a pursuant claim affidavit of an 8 digit no with a dash in it. The automated message I was named a respondent in which a court action which I or my attorney must appear in 24-48 hrs. That I should forward this information to my attorney."
Sounds suspicious, I'm about to ask them why they're sketchy haha. Same 561 number.

I received this same call today from this National Lean Processors Civil Litigation Unit claiming I was being sued and had a restraining order against me. So, I called and spoke to a gentleman. When he asked for the case number, the number didn't even match the one they left on the voicemail. When I gave him my phone number it pulled up apparently. He went into how HSBC was filing law suit against me for not paying my interest on the CC but unfortunately, I filed bankruptcy about 3 yrs ago so I knew this account was cleared of all activity. When I went into how I did such, he simply got pissed, told me to be ready for a law suit and papers. When I explained you don't get served over a telephone nor do you have a restraining order put against you for a civil matter regarding owing the bank money, he become more upset and asked if I was a lawyer or an expert in civil law. When I simply explained that is not how the law works, at least in Delaware and you may contact my attorney, he hung up the phone. The whole point of their message was to alert our attornies but when you ask them to do such, they just got mad. I had as much fun toying with him then he thought he would have with me. Hopefully they won't call back but if they do I will just notify the AG office in Delaware and see if they can handle it. Luckily we're not as stupid as they hoped! Good luck everyone

No idea who is doing this. I was thinking of pretending to be an attorney when I call the number back. I don't like the fact that they say a restraining order is going out in my name. I'd love to catch these guys with their pants down! Maybe ill call when I have a few glasses of wine in me.
