This is a robodialer. We have a very common last name (think along the lines of Smith/Brown/Miller/etc.) and this number has been dialing our main phone line every day for the last 6 months, as well as our fax line. You would think after 3 or 4 days of the dialer getting a fax line that the fax number would be taken off their list. But this number dials in the same order every day--first the fax line then the main line.
They've called before, and I've since blocked their calls.. It's a number is Texas, they try to say they're coming after you for speeding tickets... The laugh for me, is .. Not only have I not been to Texas in over a decade..but I don't drive..
This is a collection /lawyer agency trying to collect tickets they purchased from
the state of Texas that is over 18 years old. They have no records to produce to
show when and where these tickets were given except for JP office, they just
want you to forward money to their website for payment. NOT EVER!!!
Could barely hear what he was trying to say. Said he was calling about a ticket I got 7 years ago and I now owed the state of Texas 1600.00. If I could just give him my Visa number or an arrest warrant would be put out for me! Go ahead a*****e, because you aren't getting any of my information and I don't live in the state of Texas! Anyone who gives out ANY personal information over the phone or thru the mail without verifying who is requesting it deserves what they get.
Try to say that I have an arrest warrant for me and for a small fee they will take care of it they keep calling me at least once a week some times more have talked to friends that work at the local sheriff office and they have looked my name up and have said I do not have any warrant's
They called my business line at home. I answered with my company name and my name, and there was no response on their end. I said hello again, and still no response, although I did hear a slight amount of background noise. I get a fair number of wrong number calls for collections, so I figured if they wanted to waste my time, I would waste theirs. I muted my phone and let them tie up their phone line for several minutes until I had to place another call. It's funny that they didn't terminate the call from their end. I actually probably gave a welcome break to a worker who hates his/her job.
CALLED STATING I OWE FOR OVER DUE LIBRARY BOOKS IN MCCLENIN CO.
TX. THAT I CHECKED OUT IN 1996. I HAVE NEVER HAD A LIBRARY CARD IN THAT CO AND HAVE NEVER LIVED IN THAT CO.BUT THEY ARE GOING TO SENT PAPER WORK FOR ME TO FILL OUT TO CLEAR MY NAME.
We get calls frequently from this number on our new home number that we only use for emergencies. When I pick up, there is no one ever there. I've read on 2 reporting sites that this is a scam from Texas. I live in California, haven't visited Texas in about 8 years, and have never gotten a ticket anywhere. I'm going to call my phone provider to see if I can block them from calling.
Couldn.t understand the name of the person they were calling for or the name of their client. Assumed they had called wrong number and was told they would remove my number. NOW I see that this is what they do to scam people.
I am hoping that I have being able to block their number from calling again.
This no. just leaves a msg.(since I never answer the phone unless I recognize the person or the number) for my son's ex-wife, using her maiden name. So any records they claim to have would have been prior to 2007. They leave the toll-free no. 866-955-5455 and ask that she call them on "an important business matter." Yeah. She was 21 and still in college the last time she used her maiden name. Been married and changed her name twice since then. SCAM.
