Alright folks, I have been getting calls from these a**holes for quite some time now, despite being on the National Do Not Call registry. They are all the same....trying to gain your confidence, but when you ask a simple question of who they are or what company they represent, they hang-up on you.

Here is what we ALL need to do:

1. Contact the FTC and give them your name and information and open a file/report with them. They will give you a reference number and you can use give that tot hem and then just give them every new number that you see on your phone...even daily if you have to. Here is the contact info:
1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357), Press 1, Press 3
9-8 Eastern Time M-F; http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm

I keep a notepad file on my computer with all the numbers that I get on my caller ID, and enter them into the computer with the dates I have gotten the calls, just to see if the same numbers are calling me again.

2. I have decided to fight back directly as well, so now, I immediately press 1 and go to a live agent. When they ask me if I want to lower my interest rate, I respond by making totally obscene sexual comments. I just got one and asked the young gal on the phone if she shaved her juicy little p***y for me this morning. She said she did yesterday, and then turned around and asked if I wanted to lower my interest rate. I then told her I wanted to lick her p***y instead, and she said, okay, and then hung up. She was a feisty one...nice. I have decided to ramp it up and get real pornographic with them....and I have even heard a couple of gasps on the phone just before they hang up. Today's gal was the exception, but at least she will be remembering my call for the rest of the day. If everyone joins in and gets totally filthy with them, it may start to curb the number of people willing to do this sort of stuff....plus it's sort of fun and empowering than just simply swearing at them. The best thing is not to yell at them, but sound really creepy and serious, in a passive-aggressive sort of way. To be honest, I find that the number of calls have significantly gone down ever since I have become an even bigger a**hole towards them. I think they are making sure to remove my number from their lists......hahaha, f***ers! The majority of the people are usually women, so it can be entertaining to hear their shock and ruin their day, especially if you use the C-word in addressing them. HAHAHA!!!! Fight back the scum of telemarketing!!

"Credit Card Services." Called me on my cell phone with an offer to lower my credit card rate. I pressed 1 and asked them to call me on a land line so I wouldn't have to pay cell time to find out the details. The guy got EXTREMELY obnoxious, swore at me for about 30 seconds, and then hung up. Must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

I still do not know how to lower my credit card interest rate. Oh, yeah. I don't have a credit card. Never mind.

I've been getting calls from these guys for a little less than a year. They call about... once a week. I never recognize the phone number at first. My husband calls from Afghanistan and the number is always different, so if I don't recognize the number, I answer. I've always hung up as soon as I hear the recording. Well today I decided to ask them to leave me alone and waited for a service rep. A man who spoke perfect English answered asking me if I wanted to lower my interest rates. I said "No, I just want you guys to leave me alone." He didn't say a word, he just hung up. Frustrated I called back five or six times, each time being prompted to press "1" to win big bucks or something. I didn't press one. I got hung up on every time. Some people say press one and talk to someone, but I don't see what the point is if they're just going to hang up on me too.

You know, some spam emails aren't sent to get you to respond, all they want is for you to click something in the email. They set up links in your email that identify you by email address when you click it. Then they keep logs of all email addresses that clicked on a link and sell your email address as an actively used address. They can get a lot of money for email addresses they can prove are active. (Think of how many email addresses you've had that you don't use anymore.) So... maybe another part of these guys agenda is to see what numbers are in service? I don't know. I just know it's annoying and I was hoping to find a solution online. Turns out everyone has the same problem and no one knows how to fix it.

The second time I started off with I have asked to be removed from the list 3 times already and again was instantly hung up on. So frustrating!

If you push #1 after the recording -- just to talk to someone real -- the minute you tell the person answering the phone to remove your number from their calling list, they quickly hang up on you. Maybe we should all start pushing #1 then hanging up on them the minute they answer the phone!

*** PLEASE READ THIS ***
This is a robot call credit card consolidation company. Once they have your number, they will not stop calling you. Because they keep changing their number, the FTC is powerless to act. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM TO STOP CALLING is to push option #1, get connected with one of their telemarketers, and TAKE UP AS MUCH OF THEIR TIME AS POSSIBLE… Pretend you’re interested. Give them a fake name. If everyone on this board were to do this just once, it would cost them more than it’s worth and would put them out of business.
