Caller name: Don't know
We had several calls from this number today on our house phone. We live in the Netherlands also.
When we pick up, we hear nothing for about 10 seconds. Then we hear 'Thankyou' and they hang up. It's very annoying, I hope these calls will stop at night, or else we unplug our house phone.
I find it strange that we just had a silence and a 'Thankyou', all people here had some scammers on the phone claiming they are from Windows.
However, I hope these worthless calls stop.
Caller name: someone claiming to be from a Windows helpdesk
I just received a call from this number, and they claimed to be from "the helpdesk with Windows". They apparently received some error messages from my computer.
then they wanted to trick me into believing them, so they had me look up my "unique ID". They had me open up the command prompt, type "assoc" and press enter. In there, the ID could be found.
Too bad that that is not a unique ID, but some file extension information. When I said that, they hung up immediately.
Seems this is target to the Netherlands :
I think I have seen tis call before, typically it hung up before I could answer. Today upon the second try I picked it up. It was a guy with an Indian English accent. Who wanted to know if I were the owner of this phone number. 'Who wants to know" I answered.
He told me he has form the Central Computer Department (or something alike), and I laughed out loud. He seemed a little offended. He was "not a marketeer " he did not want to sell anything. They were just monitoring "all Windows computers".
He mumbled somethig that he was calling because of security messages coming from my computer ....
I wished him luck, but then he hung up :-)
What fun for me, what a job for him ....
After having read the other comments: I think he probably referred to Windows helpdesk as mentioned in other posts.
Background noise was clearly that of a call-center. DO they really make money ?
Caller name: ?
Today had a phone from them claiming to be part of windows servicedesk and that they had been receiving error messages from my computer.
They requested me to run teamviewer, so that they could show me how to resolve these issues, which I did.
finally they explained that I should be buying something like windows security essentials. and they opened a western union website.
I never buy anything over the phone and never would record credit info when someone is watching me and not entirely sure if it is save.
The guy tried to run something like syskey, but cancelled that and closed the remote connection immediately. They then hang up.
Caller name: Didn't hear

She a laduy spoke engelish said she called me from microsoft that my computer is in danger I said I am gonna end the conversation and hang up I live in hollanfd so what is the use for this call?
I dont know maybe I should have asked more but I was not in the mood to answer
Recieved three calls today from this (to us: international) number (0014259053074) on our Dutch landline. We were not at home, so missed the calls. Looking up the number online brought me here, so I'm glad to be informed it as possible scam.
This number called me (internationally even) with some excuse that it was from windows helpdesk and that they recieved error messages from my computer regarding spyware. When Asked if I was aware of the issue I said "yes" and they asked me if I had done any steps to solve the issue.
I told them I already corrected the problem a few days ago and they immediately hung up without any answer. This is a fraud scam phone number, do not be tricked.
Several calls with caller ID 1 425 905 3074:
2012-nov-03 at 09h26, 10h12 and 12h00 local time (UTC+1)
2012-nov-06 at 11h08, 14h10 and 16h18 local time (UTC+1)
In all cases: no message on my answering machine or no voice whatsoever, when I answered the phone in Dutch.
Likely the same scammers as reported on this site.
Later strange calls show different (non-existing) numbers such as:
00 20 6397 1127 (2012-nov-16 15h05) and
00 42 5406 9022 (2012-nov-19 10h05)
Caller name: "Microsoft"
I also got a call on my landline in The Netherlands. These crooks claim to be Microsoft. I just registered an account with outlook.com and I believe they hacked this information and found my phonenumer over there. Because I know companies like Microsoft will never call people about security questions, I told them I would inform the FBI. Then they hung up!
live in the Netherlands and received 3 calls from this number. They pretend to be from the Microsoft Helpdesk and tell me that my IP is spreading spam , malware, viruses etc. They asked me to give them access to my computer so they can 'solve' the 'problem' for me.

tried the Microsoft windows trick on me. I've been waiting ages for one of these so I strung them along for 15 or 20 minutes. Interestingly, when I 'couldn't' connect to www.support.me, they pointed me towards http://www.hollandit.ie which seems to be an irish business based in monaghan. there is a remote access page which he tried to get me to put a 6 figure code into so he could remote control my PC. the phone number of the business is 047 77177. I rang it, but it was after 6 so it wasn't answered. I might ring it tomorrow.
Caller name: Adrian Jones
Called claiming that he works for the Microsoft Certified Technical Department in Sydney Australia and that a report had been sent from my computer to their main server confirming that over the last couple of days a virus has been secretly downloading dangerous viruses to my pc which is likely to crash at any time. When I asked what the ID number of the computer was that is infected I was forwarded to a supervisor who claimed that the one internet connection was likely to infect all of the pcs we have at home. He confirmed that there will be a single registration charge of 149 USD covering 3 years protection once they have talked me through how to download the virus clearing software with an engineer. This is a scam. I spoke to the police. DO NOT pay them or give them access to your PC. They will steal your passwords and take control of your PC. Calling back to this number apparently is charged per minute so costs alot. They also gave me a number to call back on (which is not the same number as the one they called from): +61 0 280 0666 97.
My elderly mother (82) in the Ntherlands received a number of calls from this number, but the call confused her. She was concerned something was wrong with our family in the US. I asked her to write down the number when they called again and she did.
Thanks for this site I see this is a scam (note my mum does not even own a computer, so any idiot claming she'd send out spam ) ....
I would hope the F@#^$%@# behind this number can be prosecuted for fraude one day.. Expect these calls from Nigeria or such, not from the US..
Caller name: phone number
Last week they called me from the above number. They now call me through a different number, from Alabama: 001 256781425.
Why is Microsoft now prosecuting them? It would be in Msoft interest and they have the money to do that.
And I have an Apple iMac. Not windows.
I was also called by this number. A English speaking woman with a heavy asian accent. I was told, she was from microsoft and they had detected a problem on my pc. She told me to switch on my pc so she could help me to solve this problem.
I refused, but she keeps phoning back.
Please be warned as they will try to get acces to all your private infomation (bank details )
