Caller name: Man with an accent called

Caller type: Unknown

A man with an accent I could not place wanted to know if my virus attack problem had been solved, and he wanted me to verify the Confirmation number. I was suspicious and I told him I didn't want to give him any information, that I didn't feel he was really from Microsoft.

This is legit. Microsoft has called me repeatedly and it is VERY annoying. However, they're calling me in regards a subscript for office 365 that is about to expire but always seem to call while i'm at work and so forth. Can't take the call but they do leave a voicemail after calling 2-3 times. This string of calls seems to only happen once a day.

I just wanted to add this post about this number because I know what they're calling in regards to is legitimate and I have a follow-up email which I did reply to during office hours and they then mentioned that in their next attempt at reaching me via telephone on the voicemail they left.

I only looked the number up myself because there had been a gap in the time period of them calling me about the same expiring subscription with Microsoft. I had forgotten the number and therefor no longer recognized it. I quickly remembered when i seen some of the results on this website.

Not a complaint......I contacted Microsoft through its contact page and called 1800 642 7676 for support, the rep I talked to help me with my laptop and informed me he would call back when the next 2 hrs to make sure everything was ok. He called back from the number everyone here is saying a scam number. The number 425 635 2970 is not a scam number. Plus it was 7pm when I called them and he called me back at 9:35pm, so yes if they are following up they will call that late.

I received a call at 1:52 AM, the caller ID says Bellevue WA, no message left, very annoying to get a ring in the middle of the night. I blocked the number.

Legit call regarding a complaint I filed with Microsoft, and they were following up. Didn't ask for any personal info, just asking questions about the issue I was having.

Legitimate Microsoft call at prearranged time, with ticket number. That being said, anyone can spoof a caller ID these days to look like Microsoft. So, if you weren't expecting the call at a prearranged time, with your Microsoft ticket which was the result of YOU calling them to report a problem, then I'd hang up. I get a ton of those spam calls. This was a tier 2 technician who fixed the problem with Windows Updates that I had several tickets open about.

To Facts:
Sorry Bo, there are rare instances where Microsoft WILL call you. To make a blanket statement like that is ignorant. Being a Microsoft partner, I get calls at least once a month regarding my partnership.
Granted if you are consumer I wouldn't trust a call from Microsoft UNLESS you initiate the call. Perfect example is their Office 365 support. When you call support, they sometimes create a ticket and will call you regarding that ticket.

This number happens to be a number that Microsoft may call you from. Problem is that with number spoofing, it could really be anybody.

Microsoft does not call you back. They will tell you that. If you get a call from "microsoft", it is a SCAM period. If you see someone on here say they are legit.. they are PART OF THE SCAM. If you contacted Microsoft for any reason, you will NOT get a call back especially from a local number. Don't be stupid.

Calling me at 10:30pm? Really?!! It's a scam.
Microsoft won't call you unless you initiate the call first. Haji and habib are calling and trying to rip you off!

Bottom line: don't answer it!

Also, the verification question in this website is not warranted. Too liberal!

I keep getting calls from this company so called :"Microsoft, " they call from different #'s & different area codes, on my cell phone and my home #. I have file a police report and the police have sent it to the FBI. I have been keeping a record of all of the #'s. But the bottom line is no one can do anything as they are from the Middle East not America, so no rules or laws apply to them.

I answered this and was told this was a scheduled call back from the Ex-Lax company. I dialed the number back and a recording said it was the Microsoft company. I was then put on hold. All evening I kept getting callbacks and voicemails until I blocked it.

I didn't initiate any calls to anyone. They called me every 8 minutes for over an hour. I didn't have my so missed the first several calls. I didn't call anyone for support and I don't know why someone would be calling me, I hadn't even submitted support requests online. Very annoying.
