I was offered this work from home job through odesk. It seemed legit. They even had a contract for me and everything. It was suppose to be for a virtual assistant position. Then I don't hear from them and yesterday they called me 56 times. He was very persistent. They want me to receive and transfer money from western union and take $150 for myself. That's when I was like this is a scam. I told them nicely I don't feel comfortable withthe job and they tthreatened to say if I don't do it I can be sued since I'm in contract and i will be breaching it. This seems unethical due to the nature of the job and what they want me to do is illegal. I spoke with oDesk and they said cut off ties with them. They also said aince it was a scam i cannot be sued even thpugj the company tried saying that they atent a scam multiple times. The company rep was based in California but when I blocked his number he spooffed it towards my area code all the way in mass. This morning I was threatened again. Not sure what I should do. Should I just wait till it blows over or do they really have means to sue me even though it was part of money laundering etc. Many individuals have said that they wouldn't be able to sue.
