Caller name: "American Support on behalf of Comcast"
This number calls my cellphone almost every day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. They never leave a message. When I call back, I get either a disconnected number tone or an answering robot saying "You have received a call from 'American Support on behalf of Comcast'". I hang up, never go farther. No reason for Comcast to call me from Ohio, I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL. Idiots!
A boiler room sounding call center saying they are calling on behalf of comcast. They do have access to our bills as he quoted the package we have and the amount we paid last month. What they were trying to sell us was actually a VoiP phone setup, which we don't need. If we wanted to Skype all our calls, we wouldn't need these guys to do it. Plus our comcast service goes out in a storm, which is exactly when you need to be able to make emergency calls. They hung up on me when it became clear I already know what VoiP is.
Caller name: Bernard Company an Affiliate of Comcast
I received a call offering an upgrade to my existing Comcast Package. They knew my monthly bill, last month's bill, and next month's bill. They said that for $10/mo more, I could get 250 channels and 4 premium channels. I told them I'd have to call Comcast first to verify this data. They gave me the number, (which was true) and then hung up. They indeed are scammers because there is no "Bernard Company" in Ashland, Ohio where the call was generated from. In fact, this is a cell phone. Since they do have my account information, I'm going to file a notice of Breach of Security with Comcast. Comcast does not have any third party company offering deals on packages. They have never heard of Bernard Company.
Caller name: Ahsland, OH
Claimed to be from Comcast and wanted to talk about my internet service. He asked if I knew my internet speed....I said ...of course I do. Do YOu? He said,....no but I will look it up. That's when I ended the call.
Very thick dialect.....could hardly understand him.
Claimed to be from Comcast and wanted to upgrade my service. They started asking questions about my account and I told them I did not want to upgrade. Then claimed they could save me lots of money on my monthly payment (HA!) They continued to ask me questions about my account information and I hung up. Clearly if it was truly Comcast they would already have that information.
Stated to be from Comcast. Was going to upgrade service. Took forever and kept putting me on hold for a very long time. Was waiting for him to ask for personal info to confirm if it was a scam but kept me on hold so much I gave up. Very thick Indian sounding accent.
