I got a call from this Asian guy who claims to be from IRS and cops will arrest me for not filing my taxes and stuff. I called them back and asked few questions and he just hung up as he did not have an answer. I hope people will not fall for this trap and give their personal important information

Claimed my tax refund would be garnished if I didn't take care of my lien on the voicemail. I could barely understand him for the heavy Indian (?) accent. I called back and asked to speak to someone who spoke English as a first language, and was told there was no one that did. The phone is answered as Internal Revenue Service.

I just check my voice messages and got the same message from this Ricky Johnson! he said there is an discrepancy with my tax return and I should call back with reference #54104, before they take any legal action. He does not sound legit. And I know government agencies will send you letters first before calling. I couldn't understand him clearly, he got my name wrong.

Claiming he is from IRS and I owe huge tax deficiency. What a funny guy and this call is made from overseas with use of VOIP system. Readers do not fall into any trap and do not provide an personal information. Being a CPA, IRS never calls people to say that you owe tax! Period. This is to get your information and file fraudulent tax return to get the refund in their address.

Persistent guy who keeps calling saying I am fraudulent on taxes and an arrest warrant has been issued on my name!!! I do my taxes on time and regularly so I knew it was a scam. It is definitely an Asian(more like an Indian) guy who tries really hard to mimic an american accent!!!!
It is annoying and I feel fore those people who may actually fall for this scam and so I hope this idiot is put behind bars soon.

Voice mail had same threat as the other people in this thread. I called the number from office phone twice. First time, it was a man. Second time it was a woman. Both times, they answered the phone " internal Revenue Service"! Wanted my lawyer's address. Threatened arrest the next day.
I don't owe anything to IRS. I called the IRS. The said that they don't work that way. Definitely a scary scam. Hope no one falls for it.

Called back and spoke w another Indian guy. Each time I called back he hung up on me. So I waited a few minutes and he finally answered again. The first thing he said was, "oh, its you again." Then he proceeded to call me an "old lady." So I said that he was a young Indian guy who wants money from an old lady. And he said, YES! Then I told him I was going to start an investigation on his company. He hung up on me, again.

Left a voicemail, Asian sounding guy, totally got my name wrong. He said don't disregard the message, left a case number that they found discrepancies in my taxes.....blah, blah. Definitely fraudulent. I have a professional accountant do my taxes every year and I don't make squat anyway, so this is a total scam call. Don't even answer if you see it come up on caller ID!

Got a call similar to many who complained for IRS Scam. This person left a voicemail and threatening to take legal action. Funny thing is I can't even make half of what the h**l he is saying, very pityful situation. They will however scam some vulnerable citizen and steal their hard earned money. I am an IT guy and the first thing I did is search for IRS Caller with this telephone number. I agree with some of the wise advices - DO NOT EVER give your full name, mother's maiden name, Social Security#, Credit Card Information, Bank Accounts. If you feel the person on the other side is indeed from IRS - simply tell him to send documentation in the US Post for your attorney to review. NO IRS Person is that stupid. God Bless all of you!

Got a couple of voicemails threatening that I owe a huge tax deficiency amount and asking me or my attorney to call back immediately. The accent was south asian. I googled and found out that similar scams are happening. Did not bother to return the call. I know that I dont owe any money to IRS. Also without any letter coming from government agencies, they cant take any action. So if anyone receives any such call, you should ask them to send a detailed mail (by post). Dont call back if it is a voicemail because they will now know that the number from where you are calling is a working number. Even if you are calling back, call them from an office number so that their caller id shows the office main number and not your extension. I dont need to tell everyone that your confidential information like SSN, bank a/c no, mobile/land line number, address, credit/debit card numbers etc should never be shared with them.
