Spoofing phone numbers, spam email, fake websites
This is how it works. They call you with a spoofed phone number letís say 444-444-4444 and you want to know who called you so you do a Google search for 444-444-4444.They create a website with the tag search of the of the spoofed phone number they called you from .With the web page they keep track of all the IP addresses that search for 444-444-4444 and trace the IP addresses that have visited the site. Because your IP address tell your exact location it is easy to sort out who is who with the IP addresses on the list. They already know your mailing address and your phone number because if you live in the USA all that is all over the internet .With your IP they can look what websites you visit, blogs, emails, anything that stores your IP. With that IP they can gather all information on what you do until your IP address changes. When they think that your IP address has changed you will get a call with a new phone number for you to trace and start all over again. Spam email works the same way. They send you an email with an address for you to go to or a virus for you to download. It is easy to hack a computer if you know the owner of the computer. Your email address shows your past, EBay, Craigslist post, Facebook, anything that stores your email tells them about you. Websites are how they get your most of your information. If you canít log into an account they put up a website that helps you log in with a technical support phone number for you to call. If you check the number in a month and its disconnected then it was a fake website. They build website for car loans, student loans, credit cards, build your own website, software problems, software downloads, anything that you need help with. They have called saying they are the FBI, do not call list, phone company, computer technical support. You name it they have done it. Who is they that is the question .Who has time to keep track of you and compile data information in a computer for later use. Listen when they call you, can you hear that they are in a room with filled with others doing the same thing. All typing and gathering information very polite very organized .Who are they. They are what happens when you get mad about something but only talk about fixing it. Even now as you read this you are mad but not mad enough to fix it. But you will be someday. This is our Country this is are internet and this is are phone lines. This is our money that we work for. This is one way to fix it. When someone calls you a protocol is put into place that calls the number back to connect the call. When someone emails the connection is made both ways for the email to be delivered. No more storing information for the world to see.
I've started getting telemarketing spammed by these guys, too. Supposedly they work with non-profits across the country to raise money, so if you've donated to a non-profit or researched one lately, that is likely the reason you're on their call list.
If you look them up on BBB, they actually have an A+ rating! How is that possible?! But only 3 complains have been filed against them with the BBB (including the one I just filed today), so that's probably why they haven't been investigated.
I highly suggest that everyone go to the BBB website and file a complaint against them (you can find them using the company name "Public Interest Communications, Inc." and selecting Pennsylvania as the state). Posting on forums like 800notes won't prompt any government or consumer protection agencies to action, but filing complaints with the BBB will.
Keeps calling asking for "ROBERT FRANK" I've told them there is nobody at this number by that name..I also tell them to take me off their calling list. They say they will but call me again in 15-20 minutes and have to go through it all over again.
**Calls all day & Night..**
