These people are sleazy collection agency. I never take their calls. I have an old credit card debt that they are trying to collect. When I am ready to pay it off, I will deal with the credit card company directly. Not these people. They are stupid they keep calling and I recognize their number so I just don't answer. They have the nerve to call at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday's.
Calling at my work number during business hrs...Nice try! With this Marxist economy and unafordable health don't kare and the collapsing dollar, NOBODY will get a penny on old debts!!! Collection "folks" might as well sign up for welfare as their job days are about to come to an end.

Calling for Wrong Person and Will not Stop Calling. I have put in a few complaints with the authorities. This must hire both dumb employees or they are just really desperate to collect on old debts that are no longer collectable as I have told 4 different people they have the wrong person and I've had my phone number for 17 years.
Caller name: unknown/ but spoke to Tonji King (Account Manager)
I have purchased my 6 year old daughter a pre-paid phone for emergency purposes only, and this number (410-575-1863) continues to call her phone almost on a daily basis. When I call it back it says that its "Portfolio Recovery" I have called them numerous times and asked that they remove the number from their call list or whatever the reason they are calling is, and they stated that they were looking for a person by the name of Muhammad.
I don't know any Muhammad's nor is anyone in my family named Muhammad. I have spoken to two different managers in an attempt to get them to stop calling my 6 year old daughters phone yet they still continue to do so. I have been told on 3 other occasions that they don't even see a record showing that they have called my daughters phone number from (410-575-1863). but I still have the proof in the call log of the phone itself.
I was then told that the number would be removed and that I had to wait 24 to 48 hours for it to take effect. I did that, then was called again, I then complained again, was told it would be removed again, but was still contacted after that and after waiting another 24 to 48 hours.
I have just called them back again, requesting to speak to a manager, when I did that, I was hung up on 2 times. The third time I called back and requested a manager, I was first told that one wasn't available. I must have been such an A** hole (due to my frustration) that before I could even finish yelling at the person I was speaking with, I was interrupted by another RUDE person who identified herself as Tonji King who stated she was an "Account Manager" these morons must obviously think people are stupid, because if you think about it ever so slightly, the person who answered the phone in the first place is technically an "ACCOUNT" manager also.
either way, I made my complaint again, this time not being the nice person I usually am, and I was told that they show the number was removed on the 31'st of July, today being 8-8-13. So I asked why then is my daughter still receiving phone calls from your company. Then I was told that there is more than one way to remove a number and that the first way it was done (every time I called keep in mind) it was apparently done the incorrect way. So after being rudely interrupted while explaining to her what the "issue" was, since she asked, she finally stated that she would take care of it.
So here we go again, round 4. I will wait another 24 to 48 hours and see what happens. I did search online and come across this website http://units.acainternational.org/va/default.aspx?cid=734 which led me to call and try to speak to Donald W. Redmond who identifies himself on this Federal Trade Commission "Round Table Comment" as the "Senior Counsel" for Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA) with no luck. instead I got a secretary/operator which stated that she shows that my daughters number was removed on 7-31-13 and that she also show no record of the phone call my daughter received today (big surprise).
She, being completely rude as well, stated that the number has already been removed and that there is nothing else that can be done about this. She then asked for the number that is calling my daughters phone, which I stated was 410-575-1863, she then had the nerve to say that the number I gave her was for a completely different company by the name of Portfolio Recovery, not Portfolio Recovery "Associates" LLC.
So then I ask this idiot, if its a "completely different company", please explain to me how it is that you have a record of my daughters phone number being removed on 7-31-13????? IDIOT!!!!!. She then began back peddling and finished the call by rudely saying " I don't know how many different ways I can tell you that the number has been removed okay? this conversation is over, good bye" and then hung up on me.
BRAVO you PRA b******s. Hopefully my issue is resolved. But if not, I at least feel better knowing that I pissed off at least 3 other people this morning with this incompetent, shady, scumbag piece of s*** company :) and if anyone is wondering where else they can call to complain to the lovely lady I had the pleasure of pissing off, their number is 757-519-9300.
Now that I'm no longer hungry, due to all the a*s chewing I just did, I am going to continue my morning... How was your Thursday morning? :)
Portfollio Recovery , They try to strong arm info from me on an account that was settled in a Courthouse 5 years ago. They claim that i still owe on this account (that even has been cleared from my credit report), and i told them they should go back and tell the Judge but that does not stop the phone calls. I

These people try to collect debts after the statute of limitations are passed. Refuse to give you birthdate and or SS#. There is nothing they can do. My situation was I have a cancellation of debt for what they are trying to collect. Nice try!
I got a phone hooked up last September and the day it was hooked up I started receiving calls, I explained this was a new phone # for my family and to date I have probably received 1000 calls and always from extremely rude people. I even tried blocking them and they just call from a different number, I have told them I'm not the person and they just keep calling around 4-5 times a day. They have been trying to collect for a gas company card from 1991 and keep telling me they will get a judgement to collect it. I have never even had a credit card let alone one from some gas company.
They are one of the biggest scam companies there is, they try and scare people into paying them money that isn't even owed. I love the part of their calls where they ask you to verify your social security # so they know it isn't you they're after. Really, are they that stupid or do people actually just hand over the number?
I even turned them in to the Federal Trade Comm. and they still call, but 1 thing they don't like is if you tell them you're taping the call, usually they hang up immediately. They are low life scum suckers.

Has started calling this week. They use different phone numbers. This one (410-575-1863) and 914-595-7031. Have no idea who they are. I don't answer when I don't recpgmoze caller. They do not leave a message. They call quite often. It's very annoying.
Caller name: Refused
I explained to this woman the person they were looking for was on disability. This person will not call you back unless he knows who you represent and why you are calling. "Well, I'll just call back and get his permission to talk to him." Apparently, the impaired caller, did not comprehend the conditions. LOL
Thank you all for your input. You put my mind at ease, and I was relieved with your responses.
Called house and cell and never left message. When I actually answered they asked for someone who I never knew. Had my house number less than a month and calls started after a week. Had cell number for 4 years and they just started.
