I received a call from US TROOPERS & POLICE PROGRAM soliciting money for their cause. I did not trust who they were so asked them to send me a donation letter in the mail. When I read it and it stated that it was paid for by the National Assistance Committee.com. They want me to send in $25 donation but after reading your web site I feel like this may be a scam. They give a phone number of 855-242-8621 and an address: US Troopers & Police Program. c/o National Assistance Committee
PO BOX 26708
Wauwatosa WI 53226-0708

A guy called me on July 11- 2018 at 10:23 AM to see if I could support the Troopers and police program. I said that I could not commit to it, then he said he didn't want to overwhelm me and asked me if I could just do one time pledge of $15 an I said yes, so he said he was going to send an envelope for me to send the money to them, then he puts a lady on the phone and she very nicely asked me which credit or debit card I was going to use to do this, I told her that I don't do credit cards on the phone, after that, she asked me for the address for them to send the envelope to my house. I gave them the address and like 6 days later I got the envelop. and of course, I went on line to verify if this was legit, and thank God I found all kinds of news saying that this was scam. This is the address where the envelope is suppose to go:
Us Troopers & Police Program
c/o National assistance committee
PO BOX 26708
WAUWATOSA WI 53226-0708.

And they still have the nerve to say "please remit by: 7/19/18"
This is the phone number they called me from: +1559-892-0312 and the phone number on the envelop is: 855-242-8621.

Scam asking for money cause cops are being shot at.....isn't that the job they signed up for!! They already get paid pretty well and I don't think giving my hard earned money to those who already have plenty will help anyone. Ask for a raise or seek a less dangerous career if you can't handle the job.

I too received a call from this "organization" yesterday (July 24, 2018). They asked for a donation and when I told them I couldn't afford to at this time, he asked if I could do a one-time donation of $15. I finally said sure, but that I do not do payments by phone or online, to which he replied that they would send out a donation form and return envelope for my pledge. Then he transfers the call to a woman who asked me for my address. They asked me multiple times if I was completely sure I could commit to the $15 donation. After getting off the phone with them I felt a little weirded out by the whole conversation and looked them up online. Glad I did!! They won't be receiving any money from me!!

I have the same comments as above and glad I checked. I fell for the $50 amount and received the envelope today (7/20) to send back but after reading the other comments and other web sites on this I tossed my envelope in the trash.
