My mother in law lives in Thunder Bay , Ontario and she has received several calls from this number. They try to coerce her into giving them her Credit Card number so they can " substantially lower" her CC rate. I would like for authorities to look into the matter, because clearly what they are doing is illegal.

Be extremely careful, and just hang up. Never dial 9, cause it appears that when someone does that, then the caller (in this case 403-255-8807) takes control of your phone, so to speak. Just hang up, never dial 9, or anything else for that matter. I didn't hanag up righet away (waited about 20 seconds) and the recorded messages just kept repeating itself. It is oviously a Scam, of sorts.

These people are not out to help anyone so do not engage them in a conversation. Just hang up and report them to the CRTC if you are already on the do not call list.

I kept receiving calls from this number while at work and was finally home to take the call. I knew it was a scam and pressed 9 to tell off the person on the other end and tell them to remove them from their call list. They are clearly in violation of Canada's Do No Call List which I am registered to. There are good resources and you can report these calls here.

they called here and 403-255-8807 was all that showed up on the caller ID. followed through spoke to the person on the other end and asked him how he got my number, he said it was just "auto dialed". He then proceeded to ask repeatedly for my credit card number and was insistent on getting the CVC number as well. I wasted about 20 minutes of his time before I told him I only had a prepaid card, he promptly hung up on me.

Tried calling back the number as "not in service" at this time. It is against the law to "Spoof" a phone number, and I have submitted a complaint to my telephone provider and the CRTC.

Recieved a call from this number AGAIN about 30 minutes ago in Ontario.

According to another complaint forum this company is registered in Pakistan and they use VOIP or something like that to make it appear that the number originates from elsewhere.

Considering this was my third call this week from them and I had looked up the information the last time they called I was ready for them this time.

I pressed the number after the recording to get to a live person and was connected to someone with an extremely poor command of english.

I let him go through his whole speil and then when he asked for my credit card number, etc I told him that I only do business with Canadian Companies and he tried to convince me that he was Canadian. Figured I'd have some fun with him so I asked him what " province" he was calling from and he said Canada...LOL I told him " OK, you must be legit because yes you are calling from the " province" of Canada but now can you tell me who the Prime Minister of Canada is?

He yelled f**** off and hung up !!!

I figured if you can't get rid of them then you might as well have some fun with them.

The number: 403-255-8807 called my mother on several occasions between Christmas 2011 and New Year's 2012... when she answered the call, all she got was screaming coming out of the speaker. Mom thought it sounded like some woman screaming for help, with a bunch of kids in the background. She, in turn, started phoning me and my siblings, only to find out we were all ok.

Today, Jan 25, 2012, the phone calls started up again, with the same screaming in the background... Since Mom has difficulty hearing, I'm guessing the "screaming" was that of the busy talking of others in the background trying to scam people. Told her to do the *57 so the police can look into it as the calls are very disturbing for her.

I don't understand why people are complaining about TELUS, as they have nothing to do with who calls you. And all phone service providers will have scammers "using" their phone lines to contact you, whether you are with TELUS, Rogers, Bell, Shaw, etc.

In case you don't know, it's easy for anyone in the world to fake the number that displays when they call you. The more successful scammers will use a number local to you because you are more likely to answer it, thinking it's a friend or neighbour.

Best bet is to block the number, either with your phone if it has that feature, or through your phone service provider. After a couple of weeks of unsuccessfully connected calls, they'll either (A) remove your number from their list, or (B) change the number they display when they call you.

Complain to your government officials about off-shore originated solicitation calls and get action that way.

Caller from this number 403-255-8807 just hung up when I answer the phone. Judging from other comments I don't think reporting them to the "do not call list" is going to actually work as they just don't seem to be conforming to any type of business practice. My guess would be some kids trying intimidation tactics and trying to scam people out of their credit card number. Judging from the sound of it as well it also sounds more like they aren't even going through a marketing list but rather the phone book (or 411.com/ca) and just dialing sequences of numbers from one area and then working their way to another.(West to East I'm thinking ) In any case they are just losers that have no imagination and absolutely too much time on their hands to actually go out and get a real job.

I've been getting these calls for a few days. I answered and it was an Indian guy telling me I had been awarded a grant as a result of my application. I said I don't remember applying and he could quote me a date of application. He said "oh perhaps it was a couple of weeks ago" I was like "yeah, right"; he also said that the number was all zeros in order to protect the institution giving the grant and later he said it was coming from the government. He said there was paper work to fill out and a nominal fee of $3.50 I had to pay with a credit card over the phone. I told him I couldn't do that. I expect he'll call again. I'm just not going to answer.

I said "No, I am not giving you that." his reply:" well I need that to put you on the list." my reply: I don't even KNOW Who the h**l you are or who you represent, & YOU obviously have my number.. you DON'T need my name as well." his reply: " I need your name...."-------> I hung up.

Called me 7 times since last week, don’t really know why. They suck. How come they work for an American company when they’re not even from here? There should be a stricter regulation about outsourcing to other countries because instead of providing better service, these people only give the company a bad name.

You are currently enabling some... unupleasant people... at 403-255-8807. It would be a courtesy for you to stop hosting these rude, foul-mouthed Indian b******s. (The subcontinent Indians, that is.) They are a long way away. And there's no way to confront them.
