Number was automated, presumably to screen for Paypal rep. Asked for last four of SSN, then last four of acct number, etc. Did not allow to opt out to speak to agent. Hung up and contacted Paypal through internet page for phone number. They stated above number is not associated with Paypal so is pfishing for personal information.

They woke me up in the middle of the night and called me several times but I didn't answer. I had to take off my sim card to stop them from calling me. I'm a minor and I don't even know what do they want from me since I don't have any PayPal or credit card. Someone help me? I'm scared they'll call me again if I put my sim card back on ..

This number showed up on a charge on my bank account for 61.07 after placing an order online with Beddinginn.com.
My order never processed and has no way to cancel it, chat constantly says not available and the number for them in China says invalid.
I had to fight with my bank to cancel my card and dispute the charge.
I called the USA number 402-935-7733 and a bogus automated system just kept saying my number is not associated with a paypal account and I could never get a human option.
I called PayPal who advised this number and the China number or Beddinginn.com is NOT a client of theirs.
Thanks for fighting me to get this charge cancelled Wells Fargo, so much for protecting your patrons!

402-935-7733 is scammer where they steal your money from your bank account without your knowledge be careful if you find this number on you card make sure you call your bank for transaction and report it then cancel your card right way and get a new card to make sure, but if keep using ebay or paypal it will always come up on your card make sure you always keep a look eye on your account and be careful of online transaction. Thanks

I found this charge and description on my statement "DAVIDBWELLS402-935-7733CA" for $29.98. It turns out that this was my guest Paypal account when buying something on ebay. Completely legitimate.

I had my credit card call Paypal while I was on the phone, and with minimal information the rep was able to describe the item I bought.

This was not fraud and I got the peace of mind that I was not being robbed.

On 10/2/14, I received a call from 402-935-7733, did not answer the unidentified call, knew that it was not from anyone that I know. I do not EVER give this cell number out to ANYONE, even PayPal. So when I get "random" calls on it, I automatically terminate. If it's someone that I know who has a new number, their NAME would appear on the call, and they would try me on my home number if they didn't get me on that cell. I *did* receive a couple of gifts through PayPal around that time, though, so I'm starting to think that someone is hacking PayPal accounts.

The weirdest part is that TODAY, 12/7/2014, a VOICEMAIL appeared on my cell number FROM THIS 402 SCAMMER! How in the h**l did they do THAT?!!?!? The little scumbags just sat there, breathing into their cube-gerbil headsets, with various other critters chattering/scurrying around/clinking machinery &/or exercise wheels in the background, burning-up my limited minutes with SIX MINUTES OF BLANK VOICEMAIL.

Creepy much?

No untoward charges in PayPal account yet, but I will be scouring all of my bank statements over the past year & calling the bank on Monday morning. Probably overseas call-center scammers or inmate labor pulling this c**p, raping and pillaging the money/accounts of anyone & every one of us who have TRUSTED catalogues, established websites, and brick-and-mortar stores in the past year or more, BECAUSE THEY JUST KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT.

Y'all can thank Rumsfeld, Regan, Darth Cheney, Poppy Bush & Ronnie Ray-Gun's PRIVATIZATION SCAMS from 30+ years ago for making this evil c**p possible. Lisping, diaper-wearing solicitors of hookers & dominatrices like David Vitter, Rand Paul & Bill PHARMA-w***e Cassidy will be taking credit for the NEXT round of cyber and phone-scamming scum that THEY get "CAMPAIGN" money from, as "CREATING JOBS & OPPORTUNITY THROUGH SMALLER GOVERNMENT," I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut.

This phone number was associated with a fraudulent charge on the credit card that I had attached to my PayPal account years ago. On the date noted for the charge there is no corresponding activity in my PayPal account, and in fact, I had not used PayPal for three years. My credit card company is handling the investigation, and I will not be liable for the more than $53 charge.

I recall that this number harassed my cell phone countless times over the summer. Since I did not recognize the number, particularly since it came from Nebraska, I never answered the call. Nevertheless, in October, the number somehow became associated with that bogus charge.

Correction to my prior comment.

Contact PayPal regardless and have them investigate the issue before contacting your credit card company. (the credit card company will ask if you did)

If you aren't satisfied with the outcome then contact your credit card company and dispute the charge/s. The credit card company will credit your account for the amount in question while they investigate the charge.

If you are registered with PayPal and there is a questionable charge on the credit card you have registered with PayPal, log into your account and see if the charge in question is listed. If it is, contact PayPal.

However, if the charge is not listed in your PayPal transactions, it did not go through them so they won't be able to assist you and you will need to contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. The credit card company can credit your account the amount charged track the transaction to the account that received the funds and charge it back.

Just got a call from this number. I did not answer the phone, and there was not a message. I read all these posts, did a quick internet search and found that the number associated with PayPal is (402) 935-2050. So, same area code and first three digits but the rest don't match. I would think if this was legitimately PayPal calling to confirm a payment/charge they would have left me a message to call back??? Just my thoughts.

This is from Paypal. If you purchased something online with a credit card, most likely Paypal was used by the merchant because they are a SECURE SIGHT. If you received a call, they are DOING THEIR JOBS verifying that you authorized the charge.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a complaint against this number. This is a VALID PayPal number. They called to verify a lot of payments on my account, which were in fact valid payments as selling software and have affiliates.

They said that the rapid payments in a single day triggered their security check and they were calling to make sure I was aware of that.
