Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

(321) 209‑6393 Robo call recorded 23 September 2014 ("Bridget at Cardholder Services...reduce your rate...consider this your final notice..." Credit Card SCAM)
Caller ID: "Consumer Svcs"

Also called recently from: (305) 368-8492 | (570) 983-3206 | (570) 983-3796 | (406) 477-3151 | (518) 278-0335 | (518) 278-0333

"Bridgit" calling me back less than a month after assuring me, "...consider this your final notice..." and even after telling me I didn't qualify for their "lower your rate" offer because I pay my credit cards off in full each month.

Yeah, I wish.

The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid past call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) followed by a 7 second pause. Finally they say "good bye" and disconnect when I failed to press any buttons.

Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?

Here is a transcript of their latest offering:

[female voice] "Hello, this is Bridget at Cardholder Services calling in reference to your current credit card account. It is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate. Please consider this your final notice. Press the number 1 now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate or press the number 3 to discontinue further services. Thank you and have a great day."

[7 second pause] [female voice] "Good bye".

We play a game at our house of how long we can keep them on the phone. Press 1 and act like you need their help with your credit. Pick a total amount between 8k-12k as they find it believable. They'll want your card numbers right away but act nervous about giving them over the phone. I won our yearly contest last year with 43 minutes playing the role of an old man. They waited 12 minutes of that for me to walk upstairs to "get my billfold". I acted hard of hearing and made them repeat everything at least twice. Another good one is to tell them you're babysitting at the number they called and ask them to call you on your cell and then give them the number to the local Prosecutor or Judge.

Telling them you'll call the FCC does nothing. Our method seems to be working for us because we're the ones laughing.

They call 4 times a day. Lately I've began to answer and "play dumb" to see how far I can push their buttons. Never do I give out anything more than my total credit card debt, servicer name or card type (visa, master card etc). I get a giggle out of their stupidity. I once asked them to 3 way capital one in to the call and have them verify my info by telling ME my credit card info and got transferred to Quality Assurance where I asked again and they said they needed to verify pertinent info. Soon as I asked what info that may be they hung up. They are REALLY terrible scammers. They don't like resistance but I love to make their day h**l. It's quite fun. I follow the prompt to talk to a rep and there were 12 people ahead of me. I can't believe that others fall for this, unless they are out to mess with them too.

These people call many times each and every week and you can not get off their calling list nor do they pay any mind to the Federal Governments Do Not Call List. I actually got to the point where I was really nasty with the guy and then a call came from them to my cell phone using a fake phone number...a number similar to mine. I guess they think they are slick but it'ts harassment.

Creidt Card Services, Rachel, pre-recorded message.

Press 1 to connect to live operator press 3 to never get another phone call. Don't bother pressing the numbers because they will call you again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, ad nauseum.

Sometimes I press 1 and scream at the people and they hang up. Depends on if I am in an hornery mood.

All these calls calls claim this is my second and final notice to lower my interest rates. I have tried hanging up, waiting for the prompt to opt out, talking to a rep and asking to be removed. NOTHING WORKS. If you do get to a live person, and indicate you want to be removed, they hang up on you. Absolutely harassment. They want to steal your credit card info.

These people have been calling me every two weeks like clockwork for the past several years. Once in a while I actually pick up and reiterate my repeated requests to take me off their calling list. Each time they simply hang up and keep on calling. Have just filed a complaint about it with the FCC.

The problem is, this is not a legitimate business. They are known fraudsters who ignore accepted business practices and therefore asking them to take your number off their calling lists does nothing whatever to deter them.

When I press 1 a woman comes on and asks my name. I have told her to stop calling me and she hangs up and calls again the next day. Today, I asked why she kept calling me and she hung up again. Frankly, nothing works with people like money...or the loss there of. The callers are relentless because they make money at some point, when someone gives them a credit card number.
I think the FCC either will or can do nothing...since the scammers are a hard target.
I propose we notify our phone service providers, as we are called, and get them to act. They limit call blocking ability to a small list. I expect they should be able to identify where these calls are coming from through their switches and cut them there. If they cannot legally block the lines, I expect they can filter the calls there. I expect they can filter them where they come into this country if not somewhere overseas. I can't imagine they could not cut the spoofed numbers if they wanted to do so...but what is their incentive? Do they make money from these calls? I expect they could compare the originating switch and determine if the area code being provided on the spoofed number is correct. If they are faced with enough unhappy customers contacting them, then maybe they will act. The loss of customers would be more of an impact...but not very realistic I know, as we all need our phones. We should not be paying for a service just to be harassed by fraudulent callers. The phone service providers need to act! We need to make sure they know of our dissatisfaction with paying for a service that is providing constant irritation. An irritation which I believe they refuse to address because they have no incentive to address it.

The caller was identified as Consumer Svcs. I have filed with FCC. It is pure harrassment. Ever since I spoke to a guy and asked him to stop, he pretended he could not understand what I was saying, and repeated garbage back to me. then he and coworkers burst out laughing. I called him a demon and it seems the calls come worse.

I've only had CALLER ID for less than a year but I've never had as many sales, opinion polls & political announcements as I have now. This particular number has called me at least once each day, at least 5 days out of the past 8 weeks. Its a recording that ends with a phone number to call for more information (I certainly won't call it!). Lately most of the calls mention protection against "slip & fall accidents".
We're both disabled and its often difficult to get to the telephone. But we've discussed completely cancelling telephone service because of this (except then we couldn't communicate with family, friends & legitimate callers.

Part of a host of Florida scam phone numbers of the (321) 209-xxxx variety. 6989, 6988, 7177 have all shown up recently, as have a couple of (904) numbers, Montana, and Arizona, all with the same message sent to my voicemail (because my cell phone can reject numbers but not block them from voicemail without a third-party app).

Reporting these idiots does nothing, as virtually everyone knows by now. I just have to deal with the random voicemail alerts popping up for me to delete without listening.

They have called my home at 7:30 a.m. and as late as 10:04 p.m. I've started answering their calls in the hopes a live person will come on the line and it is a recorded message about some medical alert system. They say if you press 5 that they will put you on their "do not call" list but I've done that and they continue calling. They use different phone numbers besides this one as well.
