Called me today at 6 am woke me up. It was a woman with a nice voice, foreign accent. She said she was from Microsoft and that I had a problem with my computer. I told her no and hung up. Got these types of calls last year from a man so knew it was spam. He yelled at me when I told him that if there was an issue I would take it to my computer guy to fix. Hung up don't need spam........

Just got a call from a man that barely spoke English. Told me he's gotten notices that my computer has sent error messages and is downloading malicious viruses. He said that I need to turn my computer on so he can access it to help me solve this problem. When I said no, he said "ma'am, this is very serious", when I said no again he started to yell at me that I needed to listen to him and turn on my computer. When I said sorry, I have a mac computer, not Microsoft, he yelled, "yes, this affects your Mac!, ma'am you need to listen to me!". I just hung up the phone.

Said they were from Microsoft calling about the problem with my computer. When I told him I had no problem with it he said I would and he was looking at it right now. When I told him it was off and not even in the same building as me he hung up.

I did not answer, since I didn't recognize the number, but after Googling it, I could see it was a scam, so I blocked/auto rejected the number. I then immediately took my computer off-line and checked to make sure I had remote access disabled. These types of calls are happening with a lot more frequency, which is why I only answer if I know the number. If it's legit, they will leave a message. If not, I auto reject the number.

Same deal, I was going to try to keep him talking long enough that I could hand my phone off to our IT department to have some fun with, but realized I might have made a mistake by saying 'sure'. Apparently with some of these calls if you say 'yes' they'll doctor up an audio recording to make it sound like you agreed to some services that you did not request and add those charges to your phone bill. Really hope that I didn't mess up by saying 'sure' when he asked if I could turn on my computer... (was being too cleaver for my own good)

The same guy from New Delhi, identifying himself as a Microsoft employee, told me that I had a problem (surreptitiously downloading malicious code) with my computer ...I asked which one...he asked me what type of computer I used...I told him that if he had the type of information he claimed to have, he should be able to tell me what type of computer I had, which operating system I was using and my IP address...told him that if he could supply that data, I'd be more than willing to cooperate with him...he got angry and started to yell...pure scam!!!

I did not answer the call and Googled the number 310-519-5526 to determine who it was. I now added to my contact list as SPAM Alleged Microsoft Problems.

This heavy accented a-hole called at 6:43 a.m. and when I answered, said he was from Microsoft.

In a hostile voice, I asked him if he knew what time it was, where was he calling from (the caller id said San Pedro, CA--he never answered either question) and he continued to keep talk in his obvious foreign accent over my questions that he was calling about my infected computer.

I told him to take me off their call list, that any subsequent calls would be reported to the FCC and I would take any and all legal actions to collect big bucks should he or anyone from his company violate this instruction and call back since they'd been put on notice.

He kept talking and I hung up. So far, no call back.

In hindsight, I should have asked politely what time it was where he was calling from (California is now the same time as Arizona) and that may have caught him off guard and I'd have found out it was tomorrow afternoon in New Delhi.

Called on my wife's cell phone. Same as the other complaints, trying to tell me we had issues with our computer. When I asked how he got that number and his answer was something that could/would never happen, I called him a "lying SOB," which prompted him to hang up somewhat abruptly.

Same as the reports above, problem with my computer downloading Malicious virus. He told me to go to my computer. When I told him I don't own a computer he was upset. Then told him he should be ashamed of himself for trying to trick people. He was upset and said that he was coming over.....I replied, Come and Get me!!!!!!!!! WTF What is the matter with people?!!!

Introduced himself as "Microsoft" and asked how I was doing - had a noticeable accent. That was the end of the conversation.
