Hi,

I was told that I was signed up for 20 months of a magazine that could not be canceled, but that they could cancel the automatic renewal if I gave them my date of birth. They also confirmed my name and mailing address. I refused to give my date of birth and they said then they could not cancel the subscription. I am not subscribed to any magazines that I know of, and this seemed very fishy to me. I think they may be collecting information for credit card theft or other fraud.

Claimed I owed hundreds of dollars for magazines I never received due to not sending back a subscription cancellation. Hung up when I refused to pay.

I received a call from 303-214-7916 on 9/3/2019 regarding if I want to continue receiving magazines. When I told the person that I did not want to continue receiving magazines and to please cancel this and when I started asking more questions the call was disconnected. I tried calling back several times asking to be transferred to a supervisor. Even after I provided my date of birth, I was still disconnected. One agent asked if I had ordered anything through Amazon or E-Bay. I told the agent yes, but I didn't not authorize any magazine subscription and I wanted to cancel and make sure that nothing was charged to my account. One again I was disconnected for a total of 6 times. The last agent that I spoke with said that he would transfer me to a supervisor if I provided him with my date of birth, which he did. He told me that he was not going to transfer me and to have a nice day and then hung up on me once again. PLEASE MAKE THIS STOP!!! This is apparently one of those scams that when you order something online, you are automatically get signed up for something with authorization/knowledge. I have checked my checking account and have not found any unauthorized charges but now I have to check all of my credit cards to make sure there are no fraudulent charges on these as well. Can somebody please email me confirmation of the status of this complaint at yttik20@comcast.net? Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate it.
