Just got my first call from them at 10am. They did not leave a message. If they ask for social security numbers over the phone from a number you don't normally call for Sallie Mae loans, then this is a scam artist.

Caller name: Sallie Mae

I co signed for a student loan for my son in law financed by Sallie Mae. I thought I only co signed for one load.
Sallie Mae made it four different ,loans. If they are ever late on one loan, they call me
I have asked them to call my son in law. But no they call me.
Almost daily.
He pays them every month.

I am on the DO NOT CALL list but it doesn't seem to matter. I do not answer any 'unknown name' callers. Calls come in all day and night.

I get these calls all the time. Have been for months. My son takes care of the Sallie Mae bill and he is up to date. Even when I answer the call I don't get anyone.

Calls every 8AM and 8PM for the past week. I finally picked up and the first thing the rep wanted was my social security number and date of birth. The first time I picked up a male answered. I asked for the rep to verify that he's a Sallie Mae employee and he hung up. They're still calling.

This is Sallie Mae calling regarding a school loan payment. Usually, it's, "Kelly Thomas". Sallie Mae is famous for s******g up payments and applying amounts to loans that are not due, then charging late fees for loans that they don't apply payments to. Generally, it takes several months after one late payment to have these calls stop. Calling this number back or their customer service lines is fruitless, as well. Consider drafting a formal letter citing this method, which is, at best, highly unethical.

Received a voicemail msg on my cell phone on 9-30-14 at 8:30pm to call Kelly Thomas at Sallie Mae @ 877-809-8533. I am a co-signer on my son's student loans which have been deferred because he's back in school working on a higher degree. I called the 302 # on 10-1-14 around 5:00pm because that's the # that showed up on my cell phone...didn't even think about the 877 #. Talked to a man who identified himself from Sallie Mae & he knew who I was (???). He immediately asked me for the last 4 digits of my SS # and my DOB. I felt it was legit so I did it. The man said a $78.00 pymt is late & they need to collect for it. I questioned him further & he said they attempted through auto-debit to collect on 9-16 but it bounced back due to insuff funds. There's no way that's possible. When I questioned further, he started getting ruder & ruder and insistent that I need to clear this matter up now & wanted my debit acct info. I told him I will talk to my son & get back to him. I spoke to my son, got more suspicious about this 302 # & called it again tonight. Spoke to Kimberly Chance. She knew who I was immediately ( again ???) & insisted on getting my info before proceeding, which I wouldn't give, and when I asked specific questions (who exactly am I talking to, is this the real Sallie Mae, why was an 877 # left on my voicemail but this # shows up instead), she said they are the real Sallie Mae & they have many phone numbers they use (really?...hmmmm) & again she insisted on me giving them my confirming info (SS # and DOB). I wouldn't give it to her, said I'm going to talk to my son again & HE will call Sallie Mae tomorrow at the REAL phone #. She then very rudely said they will continue the collection process & they will call me back tonight. This is a RED FLAG SCAM!!! My son deferred his loans in May but prior to that he was never late in pymt. And they want a $78 amt. None of our Sallie Mae pymts have ever been that low. So upset!!!

I have been getting calls from this place day/ night all day long. I am busy w/ school and work and I have called this place once and spoke to a man who I got pissy with an asked to have my number taken off the list. I do not know not never knew the person whom they are calling for and I am tired of the harassing calls, he said he'd take care of it and apparently hasn't because it's still going on.

My daughter has (up to date) sallie mae loans unfortunately but we have NEVER given my cell phone #. NEVER. She and my husband handled the loans and I have not been involved so how they got my number is a mystery. They have not called the home number they should have on record. They called my cell at 8 this morning. No message. They are now blocked. grrrrrr

In response to: Eddie

This number rings 2/3 times a day despite having TPS THE ONE TIME WE DID ANSWER IT, IT WAS A OBVIOUSLY A CALL CENTRE WITH SO MUCH CHATTER IN THE BACKGROUND THEY WERE UNABLE TO BE HEARD NOW WE JUST IGNORE IT BUT VERY ANNOYING TO HAVE IT SO OFTEN.

Too late...I have loans with those c**k-sucking pieces of sh*t. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!! If it really IS SallieMae, I still don't answer numbers I don't know and never talk to them. I send payments every two weeks, so they can go f**k themselves.. If you list numbers on national DO NOT CALL registry, you have to KEEP registering EVERY MONTH.

Someone from a company made an unsolicited call despite the fact that is on the Do Not Call Registery. We have never done business with them nor have we ever heard of them. This company appears to go under another name as well.
They never leave a message....
