They repeatily call over and over and over at my place of business. I have asked them over and over and over NOT to call me at my job. I have also told them over and over and over that his is harrassement (collection agency or not). I don't even listen to them anymore, just answer the phone, say this is harrassement and not to call me at my place of employment anymore and they immediately hang up with a single word (so they know they are in the wrong). This happens multiple times a day.

This number calls my home phone no less then 3 times a day, they never leave a message and on the few occasions that I have answered their call there is nobody on the line- like it is a computer calling. The only way I know it is a collection agency is by finding this site when googling this disruptive, harassing, constant caller! I am so angry over this, I wish there was a way to start a class action lawsuit against these people!

This number has been stalking me for weeks. Calling at least 1x a day every day - including weekends. Every time I answer the telephone, I get hung up on. I decided to quit answering the calls several wks ago - they still kept coming in numbers.. Today I answered it again - First they said "this and all future calls may be recorded".. My first thought was UGGG... Ended up they were looking for a family member of mine. I told them he wasn't here, could I take a message? They said "nope no message, I'll call back another time". I said "NO!! Please please please do not call back here. You've been calling here for weeks, not answering when I pick up, waking my daughter up from her naps, DON'T CALL BACK". She said "but isn't this the number that I need to reach your family member?" I said "no. this is not 'his' number, I can take a message/number from you if you like, but don't tell me you're going to call back after the way you've been stalking me for weeks.." She said "uh.. Ok then.. I'll take your number off the list".
We'll see if she was telling the truth...

If Asset Acceptance is, in fact, a collection agency there is one option available that should help eliminate future calls. A representative from my phone service supplier told me to do this. It worked for me with another collection agency that I had pestering me for someone who used my telephone number. After many many call where I stated the person was not at my number, the phone company gave me this suggestion. Answer the phone, and when they ask for "so-and-so" tell them you are that person. Then ask where to send complete payment of the debt. They will try to get you to put it on a credit card but tell them you wish to send a check for the full amount of the debt. Once you have the address, send a CEASE AND DESIST letter to that address explaining that you ARE NOT the person with the debt. Under Federal law, they MUST stop making additional (after one last attempt) attempts to collect. You can easily find the boilerplate format for the Cease and Desist letter with a Google search. It worked for me in the past. Of course, if Asset Assistance is disobeying the law anyhow, they might just go ahead and still contact you, but you'd have a pretty strong complain to file.

It is a collection agency as far as I can tell. I owe no debts. ANYWHERE. Every time I was ever dumb enough to pick up a phone call before I can caller ID and it was a debt collector looking for someone I did not know. I got sick of it and now screen all my calls, looking up what they are before I ever pick up the phone.

Calls all the time, but when you pick up the phone nobody is there. They called over 12 times today - it is disrupting our business! Finally called them - they say they have our number connected to 33 different people! We are not any of them. They would not give out any information on who they are. We requested to be removed from their list. We'll see...

Get calls from this # all times of the day and 2 to 4 times a day but they hang up when I answer. I called the number from my cell and the "customer service rep" could not identify the # I was calling from and asked for my SS #. Did get out of him that the company buys debt but they are an asset management company, fancy name for a collection agency.
