Purposely used up as much of their time as possible. Pretend that you are interested and talk to them. Waste their time with false information and false interest in what they are selling. Do this every time. Tell them someone is at the door to please hold on. Tell them to please hold on while you go and get your credit card - Take a long time to return. Ask a few more questions about their product. After exhausting everything Then tell them you are not interested. Do this to every single telemarketer that ever calls. Make sport of it.

If you search the number and find the carrier, call and complain to the carrier.

NEVER answer calls from a phone number that you do not recognize, especially if it is out-of-state.

NEVER call the number back - they will log your number as one to keep calling.
Scammers buy TRACFONEs or pre-paid cell phones. This is how they “hide.”
The sooner people make complaints, the sooner the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY can BLOCK them, so that they can no longer make out-going calls from that cell telephone.

If you do, accidentally, answer such a call, NEVER, NEVER give out any personal information, including your account numbers. If it is a live person, say "I will report you to FCC." and hang up

File complaints with the FEDERAL Communications Commission here:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

File complaints with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY here:
https://www.donotcall.gov/

Stop complaining and start doing what is necessary to help these agencies block their telephones and prosecute these persons.

Woman told me that I had been selected to receive a grant for $7000 from the US Federal Branch Department (lol.) She told me that I could receive it in the form of cash or direct deposit. I told her cash because this sounds like a phishing scam. She told me to call her Senior Account Manager at 209-813-2509 before I could pick up the money from a Western Union and that my confirmation code that I would need to get the money was 'AR445'. The last thing she said before I hung up with her was; "Have a blessed day."
I knew it was a scam from the start and I have not called the so called Senior Account Manager.

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

One of the problems is that he may not live in Houston, he could be anywhere. I have a phone number from another state, as I have moved around. It seems like dealing with people like this is reactionary at best. Reporting to the FTC and the BBB of the surrounding areas are great, but the person could change numbers frequently. At some point the person will be caught, but until then just keep reporting him.

Received call from this number. Did not answer. Rang four times and hung-up. I did not answer calls with out of state area codes they all turn out to be scams. Went to the web to look for the number and found your website and showing where they are from and that they are scamming losers. Thank you! I use my cell phone account to block them from calling again.

the usual insanity. cant call back, mailbox full. on DNC list. doesnt matter. just block them. of course, they will call back from another number. apparently there is not one thing to be done about this. so much for my taxpaying dollars and the DNC list. what is so weird is that anyone with a brain wouldnt be interested in this kind of c**p, so why do they keep doing it? and why wouldnt the FCC or FTC use their resources to prosecute them, since it is illegal? oh yeah..i forgot, they dont give a s**t.

Hey Mike,

Some of us are retired and have the resources to find you. There is gps in your phone even if you don't activate it, and a record of payment not matter if you are using a disposable device.

I would be very careful about making online threats as some of us have the time and means to find you.

Keep getting calls from this number. I finally pushed 1 to talk to a live operator. "stephanie" came on the line. When I asked her which COmpany she represented she began a rant on how they represent 41 banks and started listing them off. I asked her for her telephone number and she ranted more about how she wasn't allowed to give it out. I told her she was asking me to take her word on Faith and that she could be a scamming me. She became very irate and continued to talk over me as I pressed her for information. When I asked her how she got my number she said she "Wished the h**l" I wasn't on her list because I was rude and disrespectful. LOL! When I continued to ask questions she hung up on me. I called back the number on my caller ID and got the Mike Anderson's full mailbox recording as everyone else above. HELLO SCAMMMMMer. I and thousands of other people in my area fell for a similar legitimate sounding scam last year and had our bank accounts drained in 10 minutes. First by a transaction with ITunes and then another direct withdrawl of the balance of our accounts. All transactions came from Kenya. Beware and smart. I learned the hard way.

Rachel from Card Member Services answered and asked me if I dialed 1 because I wanted to lower my interest rate. I told her that I dialed 1 so that I could speak with someone. She hung up on me. Call came through on my cell, which is of course on all Do Not Call lists. The call started with a recording saying it was from cardholder services and is an offer to lower interest rates. No indication of WHOSE cardholder services. "Press 1 to talk to an operator about lowering interest rates". So I pressed 1 to find out the name of the company (and just in case it was someone I really do business with -- not likely but I gotta do the right thing even if the other side doesn't). As soon as I asked what bank was calling, the other side hung up on me. I had no opportunity to ask them to stop calling.

Don't answer calls you don't recognize as others have stated because your number will get passed around like a $2 w***e. If you can't reverse look them up or call from a multi line land line they can't abuse, just ignore them.

I keep receiving calls on my cell and land line from Rachel at card services (automated). Todays call was from number 281 217-0241. Previous calls were from 206 214-5578. I had stopped answering this number. The 281 was a new one for me today and caught me off guard. I tried hitting a 1 but it disconnected the call.
I receive 1-2 calls per week between my cell line and land line. These people need to be stopped. It appears they just change numbers when they receive too many complaints.

Received automated call from 281-217-0241 saying my credit card account was in good standing but if I wanted to lower my interest rate press #1. I did and a man (Jim) answered the phone asking if I pressed #1 and wanted to lower my interest rate. I said yes. He asked how much I owed and if my interest rate was higher than 8.9%. I told him some bs amount and he said ok then give me your credit card number. I then asked him for his name and to talk with a manager. He said Jim & I am the manager. I said, really? Could I have your website address for more information. He said, I don't remember it. Again, really? He said what's the problem? I told him there was no way I was going to give someone my credit card # without knowing about the company. There was many pauses of silence in this conversation and had to ask if he was still there many times. He was. I went on to tell him I was reporting him to the FCC & they would track him down. Have fun in prison.
