Caller name: Antigua and Barbuda
called my cell and didn't leave message. Call was identified as Antigua and Barbuda.
Only reason I can think is I entered my cell phone # on an HGTV sweepstakes but they didn't leave a message.
Called me at 9:17 a.m. Call also identified as from Antingua and Barbuda. I havent entered any sweepstakes or made any out of the ordinary purchases or orders and there is absolutely no reason that I should be receiving a call from Antigua and Barbuda. No message was left.
Called me but didn't leave a message. Heard on the news about calls from numbers like this. They hang up and if you call back, your account gets charged a certain amount. Almost like those old 900 numbers. Whatever you guys do, do not call back.
Call came in at 6:44 this morning to my cell phone. I don't know the number and have no reason to be hearing from them that I know of. Call went to voice mail and they hung up. No reputable company would call before 9 that I know of.
I want to report this number before it gets out of hand. After reading the comments I have been entering in the HGTV contest. I did not answer or call back. Googled the number instantly and now I am upset they have my number.. Ugh!!
Caller name: unknown contact
Came in at 11:38pm rang once but because of the news and seeing post about numbers from out of state calling and only ringing once so that you call it back and they intercept your computers and personal information I didn't call it I googled it and came here instead to see if others received this number. I have seven other members in my family on my phone plan and I have warned them all not to call these one ringers back.
This is one of several phone scams currently in progress. I just got one of these on my cell today. Got one from a different number last week. Both originated in the Caribbean. Our local TV news ran a story about them this morning. They robo-call every possible number, allow the phone to ring once, then hang up. The idea is to entice unsuspecting victims to call back to find out who is calling them. The international calling fee of $20 or more gets instantly charged to your bill, and the scammer collects it.
Rule of thumb: Do not answer or call back any number that you do not recognize. Ever. Always do a reverse phone search before answering or returning such a call. If the caller is legitimate and really does need to contact you, he or she will either use a number with an identifiable ID attached to it, call you back, or leave a voice message. The scammers don't wait for you to pick up, nor do they leave a voice message, because both actions cost them money.
Called me just seconds after the Super Bowl ended, rang twice and hung up. I live in MN and saw on the news later that night that the scammers were hitting ND/SD last month and are now moving on to MN. This was on my cell phone, which I only give out to people I know personally, never as part of a contest, etc...
I have gotten 3 calls from this and similar numbers on my wife's cell phone, and she died 5 weeks ago. If I do not recognize numbers I never call them back. Thankful for sites like this to be able to check them out. DO NOT CALL BACK.

Warning! This is a scam number from the Caribbean. They ring once and hang up in hopes that you call back. When you do you are charged a $20 International call fee and then $9.99/min. You authorize this by calling back. Also when you call back you authorize yourself to be signed up for a club that will continue to bill your phone. Since it is international there is little that can be done initially and the charges are already done as well as the damage. DNC does not protect you.
It's called the "One Ring" scam, because the scammers program computers to send thousands of calls to random cell phone numbers, ring once, and then disconnect. The scammers then hope you are curious enough about the call that you return the call right away. When you return the call. you are charged $20 for the international call fee. After that, there is a $9.00 per minute charge. Consumers who have been duped by these calls report that they are coming from the Caribbean Islands, with area codes that include 473, 809, 876, 284, and 268. If you think you have fallen for this scam, immediately alert your cell phone carrier and keep an eye on your cell phone bill. The earlier they document the fraud, the better your chances of having some or all of the charges removed. Experts recommend if you don't recognize a number, research it before you call it back.
