Caller name: Pretending to be Chase bank

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

October 30, 9:19pm Pacific, it called and said my Chase debit card was locked and to press 1 to unlock it. I knew it was a scam since I don't bank with Chase so I figured I'd see how deep the rabbit hole went and I pressed 1. Same recording repeated except instead of saying press 1 at the end it asked me to input my card number. I don't have one, so I hung up.

Call came on my cell phone at 11:11 pm PDT. Claimed to be from Chase. "Sorry to inform you that you Chase debit Mastercard has been stolen. Press 1 to speak to security department". I hung up and came looking to see what it was. Odd phone number, but I found this posting.

I received the call this evening around 9:30, WEST COAST time!

Searched the odd amount of numbers and found this posting.

All I get when I call back is Verizon saying they don't service that number.

Considering my bill is paid up, it's super weird. Keep check of your bill first before calling... they may have blocked it though for a bad reason.

Robot sounded official. ^^^ as above, told me my "MASTERCARD has been (b)locked"? Can't make heads, or tails of it. Ignored. Going back to sleep.

Received 2 calls now from 25363827 on Cell phone. Saying my master cared blah, blah. We do not have a Mastercard. I did call my bank to report it. They indicated it could be reported and the number shut down. Dang scammers. If people put this much effort in something positive just think for what could be accomplished in the world.

Called from Kent, WA and said it was Chase Bank and my card had been deactivated, press one to reactivate card. Then they asked for my card number and I hung up. Checked on chase online to see if any such thing had happened to my card. No alerts or holds came up. This is a scam and you should beware. Never give your card numbers to random callers.

As others have mentioned; my MasterCard debit has been blocked; press 1... Which I did; only to hear the same message. Then I realized I don't even have a MC debit card so I hung up. When I first saw the "253" #; I thought it was a local call because 253 is an area code in Seattle. I didn't see until later that there's only 8 digits...

Received call 9:19am 10/29/13 telling me my Chase mastercard had been deactivated and that I needed to press 1 to reactivate. Only problem is that I don't have a Chase mastercard. Dialed 1 to confront the scammer only to get the same message repeated and was then asked to enter the card number. I'm sure that if I continued it would have asked for the PIN too. The voice was done by a really poor quality text to speech program.

Got an automated voice mail at 7:25 from this number saying my debit card is lost and to press 1 and I will be directed to the security department. Called my bank instead and was told it was a scam to get my information so they could start spending my money without me being aware of it. My debit card is not lost - it's in my wallet. This world is full of a**holes.

Just got the call also. While it is noon here, I was asleep as up all night. So not in good mood to answer cell phone. Said my MasterCard had been stolen and to press one for help (if I remember correctly, agin they woke me up). I know card companies will call about suspicious activity such s when hubby buys things for farmville accts. They do not sound like that. I pressed 1 to tell them what I thought about being awakened, but another recording saying same thing so I hung up.

These scammers called at 10:47 p.m. on a school night!!!! Some scam about a card I have never owned being blocked. They want you to enter the numbers to unlock it. Yeah, right, I'm going to get right up at 11:00 p.m. to hand over a credit card number for a card I have never owned to any autodialing stranger that wakes up the children on a school night. Worthless scammers.
