Caller name: Helping Hands
Caller type: Telemarketer
Rec'd call on my cell phone yesterday afternoon. Male claiming to be with Helping Hands, or some variation thereof. Starts off talking about supplemental insurance for Medicare. I told him I already have this. He then talks about burial insurance, and I tell him I have a life insurance policy for this purpose as well. He then congratulates me and ends the call. Didn't answer when I asked him to repeat the name of his organization. CID of course only shows phone # and "Washington."
I note upon searching that there are a number of groups with "Helping Hands" in their titles. Helping Hands Foundation, which helps children with upper arm injuries/deformities and their families, had a warning about this scam, stating they do not make cold calls and do not have paid employees.
