Says it is regarding my dominion ease ohio gas account, It is really one of those energy exchange companies (you know the ones that are always in your neighborhood with clipboards promising to reduce your energy bills if you switch to them) We get about 15 of these calls per week from various companies and various numbers, this girl must have been a new recruit because she actually left a voicemail (as these scammers usually don't because it can be used as evidence in a harassment case)
The scam is: They tell you to switch your supply line charges to their company and it will save you hundreds over your energy supplier charges, and they sure do save you for about 3-4 months and then the "rate" increases and it costs 5 times what your old bill used to be before you switched to them to save some cash. And the kicker is you are now in a contract that you cannot get in touch with anyone to help you get out of, so now your bills are going to be shut off unless you pay these outrageous amounts. I will admit it, I fell for this once at my home when I was about 19 years old, I ended up owing somewhere in the neighborhood of 5K and had my gas shut off and had to use my mothers name to turn it back on then years of making monthly payments so I could put my account back into my own name, SCAM SCAM SCAM!

Left VM requesting I have my Dominion bill handy when I return call. Stated her name was 'Kristen'. Also 'beep' noise was running in the background as though the call was being recorded.

Same as others...called office asking for a return call with bill in hand. If they work for Columbia, why do they need my information? Lots of these energy scams going around, watch out!

Got the same call. What piece's of c**p. They actually demanded a $1,000 wire to keep the gas service on which some clerk in my company made. Not sure whether to report these people to the better business bureau or the police.

Called and left message with one of my employees. Stated that it was in regards to my Dominion account. Strange.....my payments are up-to-date and I am under a contract already.
I called back early the next day. No live person answered the phone - it was just a recorded message that requested for me to leave my phone number and "someone" would call me back.
I know better than to leave my phone number to some blank message.

Calling about your Columbia Gas account. They just dial anybody because I don't have a gas supplier. Only propane out here in the sticks. Just tell them you rent your place and it's an apartment on a barge currently sailing to Iceland. It'll leave them speechless.

Like the previous comments. Left a voice mail stating it is urgent to call regarding our Columbia Gas bill. They make it seem like it is your current gas provider calling.
