Had a problem with a company called ILD teleservices out of TX and FL now I'm getting these calls. They charged my debit card twice up to 14.00 for a .50 phone call from a pay phone. I was stuck without my cell and the payphone wouldn't take quarters. I think maybe the whole set up was a scam to get you to use your debit card to steal your info in the first place. Anyway my bank helped me out and I'm going to the AG and BBB.

Obviously a scam, as everyone is saying, but they are masquerading as the most familiar banks so just don't be careless. Make sure you know your bank's security policies, since most will NOT ask you for all your information without the use of some sort of secondary identity verification (id numbers, passwords, and what have you) to confirm that everyone is who they say they are. Don't make a habit of trusting automated messages either. There's a reason people write robot-apocalypse literature, and it's automated messages.

don't ignore them, use a fraudulent number.

If thousands and thousands of people do this then the scammers will go out of business.

if you just ignore it, they will just dial the next number.

Yesterday it only came up with 2232 as the telephone number and this one has called so many times in the past few days including @ 1 am...The first time they called the bad recording said they were from Suncoast Federal Credit Union for which I do not have an account with. Next day it was the 214 # claiming to be from Wells Fargo Bank stating the very same msg. that my debit card had been locked and to unlock it to press 1 and enter my debit card account info. My husband came home yesterday and asked me if I had my debit card because he too got several calls and 1 of them finally chose the correct bank we used. I explained to him that it's a scam and they are calling on a daily basis now several times a day. It's getting very annoying! So much for the Do not call registry for which we signed both of our cell #s up for as I'm starting to think by reading most of the post that everyone else has also signed up on that the Do Not Call list has been hacked? My therory anyway, because this just started happening last week and now it's happening everyday? What gives and why haven't they shut this down already? So many complaints and nothing being done about it? Come on already!!!

I'm pretty cautious usually, but they nearly got me on this because:
A. they got my bank name right
B. They called at 3pm
C. I had just activated my debit card 4 hours earlier.

But my better sense said, let's just call the bank and do this the safe way.

I called and filed a complaint with the FTC
