I keep getting this number calling me but usually I am not home to answer the call

I have now programmed my outgoing message as follows : Hello ...........This is a recording . if you are a friend ,neighbor, relative, doctor, dentist , pharmacy, fire department , police , or government office , then please leave a message after all the beeps have stopped. If you are not one of these then take my goddamn phone number off your list and don't wait for the beeps to stop.

I just installed that message today , so I don't know how effective it is going to be. But I have had it with political polls, charities of doubltful nature, credit card interest lowering, vinyl siding, window replacement and all the other junk calls especially from INDIA. My computer does not pick up viruses nor does it send out viruses with all the protective measures I have installed on the machine. All companies i did or do financial business with have on their files a do not transact internet directives as far as transferring money to or from my accounts. Internet banking is only convenient for the scammers out there.

The caller identified as The New York Co. There is no such business name to be found. The phone rings 2 to 3 times and then hangs up during the last ring. They have called for several days consistently, at different times and they leave no message. STOP CALLING!

One of those idiots called me a few months ago. He was like, "We have just received a report that your computer has downloaded a virus". I asked him, "How in the world can my computer download a virus if I have NO INTERNET?" He spent the next few minutes trying to convince me that my computer had download a virus, then he hung up on me after I kept calling him out on his stupidity. I constantly asked him what company he worked for, but he would just mumble something incoherently.

The person sounds like they are calling from India. They claim they are in the windows call center in California. They state that my computer has a terrible virus and that they are here to help. I ask them which one of my 14 computers has the virus, they say it is my windows xp computer, I say, funny, I haven't had xp in years. The caller then tells me they have my number and hangs up! SCAM! NEVER give them your credit card number. Their "support" steps will give them access to your computer to install malicious software!
