I received a call last night from this number at 10:45 pm, and when I tried to immediately call the number back since I missed the call because I was sleeping, a recording said the number was disconnected. Where are these people getting our numbers from? Is it from the companies we do business with, if so, then maybe it's time to stop giving out our phone information on applications just because it ask for it. And if it's one of our vendors, shame on them.

Said my computer had a virus and I needed to download a program from his company to prevent it from crashing. So I asked him which one and he said they were all infected. When I said I wasn't hooked up to the Internet and couldn't download his program he got frustrated and started cussing. Total scammer.

Caller name: American gaming commission

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

He said his name was Robert Watson from Mississippi769-204-2156 Said I won 3.5 million from American gaming Commission and they would come to my house with my money, I could have it on a certified check, or half check and half cash or all in cash and he was staying at the Holiday Inn, had called for 2 days and I missed the calls. Had an accent. He said it would arrive in a black Rover with 2 marshals, 1 IRS agent a person from the Lottery Commission because it was at the Mega Million. He said they would use Bank of America and they would come to my house for the IRS to take their share of 1.5 million and we would all go to my bank and they would verify the check, and pay the IRS man and leave. Oh somebody from the Federal Trade Commission would also be there and wanted me to go get a gift card for 1 Vanilla or Amazon, preferable the first, and to call them when I got back. I went out for a short time and called him when I got back which he didn't answer the phone of course and a few minutes he called me back and I asked why he didn't answer my call he stammered and stuttered about where he was and switched the conversation saying he would get a big commission for this. I could off and on hear a child in the background and when I mentioned it he got indignant when I questioned a child being with him and said that was silly he did't have a child at work. He made the mistake of using the 212-619-9999 # said NYC and they hung up when I answered 3 times and I questioned him about calling from NY when he said he was in Mississippi first and then said they were right here in a hotel. I told him I had had a lot of scammers with this stuff and he said oh yes there are a lot of them, so I said I got the gift card now I want my money and he hung up. Check all calls and if they continue put them in your phone as blocked.

When I was getting a lot from one man, over months, I notified the FBI, Federal Trade Commission, Attorney General and finally I agreed to open a checking acct for $10 and see if there was any action and sure enough 3 SS cks went into that account and I called back and told them there was money in there and then I called SS and told them what was happening and they took the money out and I thought it was over and he would leave me alone and finally the Attorney General's office sent me a letter for helping and a name to notify if there was more action, I have let it sit and when I get ready to finally let them know it stopped he starts calling me again and then stops for a few weeks and then stops again. They always wanted a Western Union money gram from a Walmart and I said I don't know where there is a Walmart or what a Western Union money gram was and every time I would say I have no money to send you he would lower the amount and it was down to $200 the other week so I said well if you would bring me my money we could go to the bank and I could cash the check and pay him but of course he wasn't going to do that. His name was Robert Wood

I received a call from this number today with a female recording saying "a formal complaint has been received in my office which will result in service of process being completed at either home or place of employment for (Then a computer generated recording of name). Please call immediately to avoid further legal action". Ok, so I received a call identical to this last week but from a different phone number. A relative received it as well last week. I called back and they refused to say who they were. I had to ask 4 times until the person blurted out a fake company name. They went on to say a complaint would be mailed again. Yeah right! lol.I don't owe anybody money and I have no legal issues whatsoever and nothing has ever been mailed to me. In America, you'd pretty likely know if you were in legal trouble or being sued! lol .Complete fraud!!! They will, however, harrass your family too, because they access public records. This same thing happened last year and quieted down for a while.

Got a call from an Unavailable number, India accent both first person I spoke then his supervisor. Said they are from USFLFC (United State Federal Loan Forgiveness Center) Wanted me to access my FSA account. They gave me the username and password to the site. I quickly changed the password so no one else had access to my account. I asked for proof of who they were and the man said now worries about that yadda yadda never gave me anything you can consider proof. I hung up, they called again quite a bit for 2 days. I couple weeks later they called using 212-619-9999. I asked what company he worked for and he said the same as above. I asked for a website or a phone number I can verify because I will not be giving any information over the phone. He gave me the www.fsaid.ed.gov site. I opened my laptop and my email pings to an email about a forgotten password and to enter a security code to change password. I didn't even go on to the site yet and someone on their side requested this. So I asked for a phone number to call "Jack" back and this is the phone number they gave me. Anyone else have the same c**p?? 8668268715

The person that called me was of foreign descent (i.e. accent was from India, Pakistan, or one of the Middle East Countries). He stated that he was calling about a known hacking attempt affecting our area in Illinois. (Ha, ha, ha.... I don't live in Illinois any more.) He was wanting me to use my computer to help him eradicate the problem from my machine. DON'T EVER DO THIS! This has the potential of allowing the installation of software known as a keylogger or a backdoor onto your machine.

The person that I was talking to was trying to perform what is called a Social Engineering Attack. I did not follow through with any of his requests. Instead I turned the tables on him and started asking him various questions. Like what parts of Illinois where being affected, trying to find out what city's or towns he was targeting. What kind of virus/malware had been discovered on my machine, trying to find out what kind of software he was trying to get rid of. He was not able to answer any of my questions. So I disconnected from him, but did not disclose that I am very knowledgeable about computer systems, networking, and even ethical hacking.
