this happened to my friend and she got suckered in and they took money from her.
they tried calling me twice today - first a woman then a man (Indian/Pakistani accent). I got rude with him and he started insulting me back. I am very, VERY angry and wish something could be done about this!

Same thing. Called my cell phone. Male caller with Indian accent claims to be calling from the IT department of ? Secure in Austin TX. Very bad connection from India. Wants to walk me through a few simple steps on my computer. I asked him what my name was, and he said Mrs. ABC, ABC being my husband's first name. I told him it was a scam and that I wasn't doing it and thought the police should be informed, and he hung up.

I called the number after it came up on a website because I couldn't exit out of my browser. It said I had a virus and that I shouldn't shut down my computer or go on the internet because I could lose important documents. They called me back a couple of days later with this number which is different from the one on the website and asked if I needed help. Meanwhile, I already scanned and deleted the virus from their website. I asked for their company's name and the first speaker I talked to who was Indian gave it to another person who was Indian but not as strong an accent. I asked him again and he hung up.

I received a call from this number. This is "Windows virus" stammers!!!! The guy with a very strong Asian accent told me that Window of my computer has a virus and they are going to help me... Me, being computer specialist myself, played a game with them asking how they know and what they are going to do and the guy bluffed away continuously asked to go to their website and click on a link to download a utility that they will be able to connect to my computer. I guess everyone understands how dangerous is to click on such a link or even go on such a web site....

I just got a call from this number. It's the second call (of which I'm aware) of this nature: person with possibly Indian accent (woman this time) calls to say something about my computer usage. Claims not to be a telemarketer. I told her she was a liar, which prompted a response of "why do you think I'm a liar?" At least I got her off script. I then repeatedly told her I didn't wish to be called any more and to please have my name removed from their list. That always gets them to hang up.

This crew calls every few weeks to tell me my computer is acting up. Reporting it to "do not call" hasn't helped as it has been going on for months.

Warned me my computer was sending alarms and I probably have a virus. I played dumb and asked for my email address. He rattled off some numbers and I thanked him and said I would check it out. Sounded like an Indian accent.

Tells me I have a problem with my computer, slowing down and error reports. Wants me to give them access to my system via a secure link to their IT department. tells me to follow a few simple steps. Hers where I prevail. Since I know its a scam I frustrate the h**l out of them. I run up their phone bill since they called me with their junk. I tell them I don't need their services yet they still insist they can help prevent this issue. They talk you through the access steps then when you get to the I.D. and I.P. step just hang up after telling them you'll live with a slower computer. They WILL call you back hoping you will give them access to your system. Tell them nothing, hang up the calls will stop
