Called wanting information about our company. When I asked who they were he first said he was with the Chamber of Commerce. When I asked which Chamber of Commerce he said the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. At that point I called him a liar and said I knew he was lying because the number was not a Georgia area code. He then said he would call back later and I replied "No, you won't" and hung up.
This number call me at 6am!! I was very mad because I happen to have been asleep as well as my 3 children were sleeping. By the time I got to the phone to answer it, they had just hung up. GRRR I tried calling it back and it just has a weird busy signal.
"They" keep calling me around 8am, I am asleep then because I work nights, however, it only rings once, and then I get a slew of other numbers calling me one after another (about 6 phone numbers) this one listed 206-777-1016 is the only one in seattle, the other callers are from Illinois. I don't get a chance to answer because they hang up after the first ring. And I try to call back and it's disconnected.
Probably from Jamaica Man! No accents anymore. We're being bombarded with insane foreigners now and no one in this country is able to stop them. I now shut my phone down several times a day and keep my house and life as secret as possible. Sad isn't it?
Reported they were from VErizon and had me log into an e mail which then directed me to my verizon account...it was my account set up by me and all looked fine. turned out it was a scam and since i logged into my account they have my account info. GRRRR.
Received a call from this number claiming to be Verizon and stating that I had been selected to receive an $85 credit off my next bill. To claim my 'credit', I was directed to go to a web site - mybonus85,com - and log into my account. Sounds like a scam to me to get my Verizon account information. If Verizon was going to give me a credit, they would just do it, no make me jump through some kind of hoops to claim it. Plus, my account is not in my name, it is under my husbands name and phone number.
A few minutes later, my husband received a call from this same number. He did not answer it.
Received a call from a foreign woman stating she was calling from Microsoft about fixing my computer problem. I told her that I have a work computer and will check with my IT department on any issues. She tried to cut me off and say that they needed to fix the issue. She then asked if this was my personal phone or business, and I made the mistake of saying they called my personal phone. I again said I would check with my IT and hung up on her. Hoping they didn't get any information by me saying it was my personal phone....
Called my home number and knew my first name. Claimed they needed to help fix my Windows system from an infection. I told them I have Norton and don't need any help and hung up. They tried to call back right away but I just quickly hung up.
