User Complaints for (206) 508-4051
I work amazon.com customer service. We get calls all the time from that number from these guys playing pranks on us..trying to get us to explain sexual items on our site to them. They do it day in and day out. They use our own call back number to hide behind so that we cannot locate their real number. So, here's my advice...if you get a call from this number claiming to be an amazon rep, HANG UP, and call amazon customer service at 866-216-1072 to speak directly to a real rep, then ask the rep if amazon is trying to reach you for some reasson..if we see on your account that more information is needed to process an order, or do a return, or verify information,, then feel free to give us the info requested. The only way you should give out information is if you call us back on the direct number I just gave you so you can be 100% sure that you're speaking to an actual Amazon.com rep. and not a fraudster. Again, this 206-508-4051 IS a VALID amazon number but there are fraudulent people hiding behind that number spoofing it, so if you get a call from that number, it's either us or them. The only way to be sure is to call amazon back. Please, if you can copy and paste this to any other boards you see, it'd help to spread the word faster. Thanks everyone!
I believe this is now a bogus number. I received a call from this number and they identified themselves as diapers.com. They did not ask for any personal information but the call occurred on the same day that fradulent charges appeared on my credit card.
Caller name: Supposedly Amazon.
Received call from 2065084051 asking if I made a purchase at diaper.com on a Discover card. I told them no and I don't have a discover card. I have my Visa card set up to email me for every charge on my card and lo and behold there was the charge from diapers.com. I immediately checked my statement on line to find pending charges for $1037.74.! I had to call and cancel my card and remove the charges. It looks like some slick operation that must call to see if name is valid, give phony information and have access to your valid card number. Like someone else noted You get a busy signal when you call the number back. Rechecking my e-mail shows the alert message is gone. They apparently also hi-jacked my email account and deleted the message.
Caller name: Amazon customer service
I received a call from this number today alerting me that someone had used my amazon account to buy two xbox live card and to verify that I had not made the purchase myself. I had not, the account was used fraudulently. This was a valid call.
Caller name: Amazon Customer Care
Legit call and message from Amazon regarding an order that was placed and had an issue.
PLEASE READ KAM'S NOTE ON THIS PAGE. She explains that sometimes non-Amazon tricksters will call and make it appear as though they are calling from Amazon's number, 206-508-4051. Follow her advice and if you get a call or message from this number, don't give them any information. Instead, call Amazon customer service at 866-216-1072 and ask if an Amazon rep has tried to contact you. This way you can be sure you're actually talking to Amazon and not someone that faked their caller ID info.
I received a call from this number claiming to be Amazon reporting that someone was attempting to use my card from a different account. The caller was able to identify recent purchases but I still did not give them any credit information. I contacted Amazon via chat through their web portal and they said they did not call me. BUT turns out there was fraudulent activity on my card. SO the card data had been stolen and the call was fraudulent!! Beware and to be safe cancel your card!!!
Caller name: dont know callers name
Do not reply to these numbers if they call you.
The numbers are: +1 206- 922-0880 and +1 206- 508- 4051
They want you to confirm your details!!!! DONT DO IT!!!!
PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND REPORT IT TO AMAZON!
Caller name: Audible
The call I got was legitimate and was a follow up to a customer service request. Since I did not recognize the number I did not answer but they left a voice mail with the answer to my question and without a request for any additional information. If it really is Amazon calling they will leave a voicemail.
Caller name: Amazon
I called Amazon this morning because there was a fraudulent charge on my credit card from them. They called from this number later in the day to confirm that the transaction had been cancelled. Given the number of posts that say its not legit, maybe scammers are spoofing this number, too, but the call I got was definitely Amazon, they did not request any confidential info from me, and told me I would get a confirmation email from them that the charge was being corrected -- I did get that email, which was also legit, within 5 minutes after that call.
I got 6 missed calls from from these numbers and they were trying to get my details from me. If Amazon ask you for your details and fax them through, DONT!!!!! never fax your details through like i did. Cancel all your accounts with amazon and cancel your card.
Tell amazon about your problems and they will sort them out for you.
Caller claimed to be from Amazon checking on a questionable gift card ordered on my account. When I said I needed to check if it was my daughter, they said I could not call them back but they would call me back. I called Amazon Customer Service (which is the SAME phone number), but Amazon told me there was nothing wrong with my account. I did not answer when the same number called me back numerous times.
I called regarding my book on a Amazon website amd some "guy" answers and he says nothing is working and I have him try some things and later I am starting to get supious so my advice is ask questions that only Amazon would know and not some random person, if that makes any sense
Caller name: Claimed to Amazon but is spoofer
FROM AMAZON - DO NOT ANSWER OR RESPOND - This is a fraudulent 'fishing' call. I just spoke with Amazon directly and they were adamant that this call did not come from them at all. They were surprised that anyone would report this number as trustworthy - my guess it those who reported this as trustworthy are part of the scam.
