This is a common scam. The robotic voice you're hearing is actually a human talking through a device that changes their voice.

Scams like this have been all over the news for years. I've gotten a few of the calls over the last few years. Every time I'm told that I haven't paid my taxes and if I told pay my back taxes I'll be sent to some federal prison someplace in Alaska. The best part, I always pay my taxes and I've even gotten my returns back.

You will never get a call from the IRS!!! If you do have any tax issues you would get a letter to make an appointment to go into your local IRS office.

My advice to you, directly from my accountant, the next time you get a call from one of these people. Tell them you will have you Tax Attorney call them and they will handle the situation. Tell them you don't want to hear anything more about this issue.

Claiming to be I.R.S. Wanting money or threatens to lock you up. When you call they say they are either the I.R.S or the F.B.I. and tell you that you have to pay so much or go to jail.

I didn't answer the phone call but I received a voicemail message of a robot voice recording telling me that I have an arrest warrant for Seattle, WA out in my name (didn't even give my name which might be a good thing but who knows) and that I "needed" to call the number back. Like that's gonna happen.

1. This is definitely a scammer. 2. I've never even been to Seattle. So that's what tipped me off about this being a scam caller.

First I got a message telling me that I had a lawsuit in my name and it was imperative that I call them as soon as possible. So I returned the call and was told I owed money to the IRS in the equivalent of $1,800 for tax fraud and that they would only investigate the claim I made that it wasn't me if I sent $350. Mind you I hadn't worked in MANY years and they said this was back in 2011. First red flag, because the IRS does not wait almost 7 years to tell you you owe or to file a law suit. Second was that they will send you a message in the mail first (as confirmed by their website). Third was it wasn't a 800 number. And lastly, when I told him I only had $55 cash until my next sell period (I make and sell things for a living), he told me I would have to go to Wal-Mart and purchase a card so they could send the money. After that I hung up and they have contacted me twice throughout the rest of the day. One with the bot message left again but the second time, they didn't even bother. Needless to say, avoid this number at all costs.
