A caller from this number called at approximately 11pm EST insisting that he was from the Windows Service Center and that our home computer had issues. He was incredibly belligerent to the point of intimidation. I asked him directly if he worked for Microsoft, and he answered "yes". Please be aware that Microsoft will NEVER call you directly to resolve computer issues and anyone who claims that they work for Microsoft and are calling you to fix your computer are making fraudulent claims. I am an IT professional, so I was aware that this was a fraud - I just hope others do not fall for this.

Called from 205-280-0212. Said he's from

Help Support for Windows Computer.

He said he's calling from 302-261-9242

I said I'm on the National Do Not Call List and I would make a complaint but the government is shut down and I cannot file a complaint right now. (I tried yesterday and it was shut down. There was a call from the same number in Alabama.)

The man said, with an Indian accent, I believe, "But you're not on the International Call List." He then proceeded to tell me that it would cost a lot of money to be on "that" list. I kept saying. I want to be off your list. Take me off your list. He finally mumbled something like ok, and then the call ended. I'm not sure I believe this guy.

Too many of these calls! Unnecessary. This guy should find a better job.

called 3 times today, when I answered he (with broken english) said that my computer was sending error messages and if I didn't let them fix it then the FBI would lock my computer. I told him I did not believe a word he said and that my computer was fine. He tried again to intimidate me with the FBI will shut down my computer (I have done nothing illegal). I specifically asked him who he works for and he said Windows service center. I told him I did not believe a word he was saying and hung up

Same story as many other complaints. They claim to be from Microsoft and need access to computer to "fix " it. Totally not possible, yet they know how to sound convincing. I still get calls and either ignore or hang up. I would block it if I knew how. These are vultures preying on people who do not understand computers. How can stop them?

Try this everyone. When they call back, grab a whistle and blow it into the phone as loud as you can. That should make them think twice.

They have been calling me every day for several weeks, sometimes three times in one day. They say they are from Windows, and my computer is telling them they need to fix it. They all have heavy Indian accents. I always tell them I'm on the National Do-Not-Call List. Sometimes, when I answer, they say nothing and hang up.

These pathetic idiots are actually quite entertaining. I have received several calls from them in the last couple of days. I go on the offensive. I ask them to identify the company they work for (is it Microsoft ????????????) and they cannot give me a straight answer. I tell them that I have a local IT guy who services my computer and the nimrod talking to me wants to have my IT guy call him (on a # that cannot receive calls). I asked him if he was aware of the "do not call" list ? Again, no answer. I must've been getting under his skin because he actually told me to "shut up". I then took my phone and put it in front of my TV so that he could listened to the Oakland/Mets game on MLB network. He finally hung up after 9 minutes. Next time I get a call from these losers, I will not be on the phone with them that long.

I have received two calls from this number today. I have caller ID and since I DID NOT recognize the number I DID NOT ANSWER the phone. No message was left either time. I have read all of the above posts about this number and am astounded that there are folks out there that have caller ID and do not use it to their advantage. Caller ID actually let's you see the number of whomever is calling you. This allows you to IGNORE THE CALL IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER. You may then go on about your business without interruption and aggravation. Thanks to those tiny-brained and needy folks who feel the need to answer EVERY d**n CALL that comes in I was able to see that this number belongs to a scammer when I googled it after receiving the second call. Thanks also to those of you who say you have no computer but yet were able to post info about this scam...

Caller was female who spoke with bad grammer, and broken English. She said she was going to fix my computer, saying it had been sending out encrypted messatges. Probably got a virus from files or progtram using camera or Skype. i have no camcorder on this computer, and Skype is not installed either. Wanted me to get in front of computer and she'd talk the way into my system, to fix the problem. I refused to cooperate, accused her of being a scammer or trying to access my files. She got bitter and argumentive when I wouldn't 'buy' her con job. She finally told me she was calling from Support services of Windows, after I insisted on her identifying herself. She kept elaborating re not selling anything, that she was going to help me to 'stop the pick-up calls I had been getting." I had not reported any problem or asked for help from ANY website, as she gave as the reason for her call. She mentioned something about representating the Smithsonian Institute. She finally got so angry with me, because I kept challenging her story and questioning her, that she hunt up on me! Hurray! Made my day, to cause her the anger she kept trying to cause in me. LOL

Got the same speech. She ws from windows and something was wrong with my computer. I told her that even if it was, it was none of her business. She called twice in one day. First time I asked her to remove me from their list and I hung up. Later that day, she called again, I told them I had already talked to her today and asked to be removed from the list. She asked "why?" I told her to just do it. She said she couldn't unless I give her a good reason. I hung up and call blocked her.

WHEN I ASKED WHY HE CALLED ME DURING DINNER HE SAID HE WAS REPRESENTING THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM I AM CURRENTLY USING AND OVER THE LAST TWO TO THREE WEEKS I HAD BEEN RECEIVING MALICIOUS EMAILS. I SAID, "AND I'M SURE YOU'RE GOING TO OFFER ME A FIX." AT THIS POINT, HE STARTED SAYING, "HELLO, HELLO." I TOLD HIM I COULD HEAR HIM BUT I WAS NOT GOING TO TALK TO HIM BECAUSE HE HAD CALLED DURING MY DINNER PREP. I HUNG UP ON HIM.

A man or woman calls. Says there is a problem with my computer. He wants me to follow his/her instructions. Bottom line....he/she wants money to restore my computer. I've actually been hacked by them before without ever giving them the first bit of information so be very careful with them. Today it was obvious that he was not going to let me speak, so out of anger I finally told him "how about if you go F*** yourself." He starts shouting "Death to you, death to you..." I could almost hear the moplah waving over his head. I shared a few more expletives with him before I hung up. It doesn't discourage him but it made me feel better. F*** him and F*** the Government and the Do Not Call people as neither of them care how much we are harassed by these foreign A**h****..............

The just now called again and it was a man with a thick accent stating that his name is Steve and that he was from Windows calling about my computer. He ranted on and on and then I told him that I did not have a computer so then he asked me if I had a laptop and I said, "No" again. He hung up.

For months, either a man or woman with an Indian accent has called my land line number saying they were calling about my computer, that it had errors, I had virus' ect. I have no computer (PC is what they specified) . I have told them repeatedly that I have no computer and to stop calling. Today, a guy named Charlie, Indian accent, called AGAIN about my "invisible computer". I'm ready to press charges for harassment and soliciting! Not to mention, my land line phone is supposed to be on the National Do Not Call list.
