Called to notify me that my computer was sending error reports to Microsoft regarding "Network Issue." Caller tried to walk me through a process to potentially infect my PC. I kept them on the phone out of curiosity - very dangerous scammers!

I have called him a scammer because that is what I would guess. He called me twice within the last few days saying there are problems with my computer even though my computer has been off. And "getting critical errors from your computer" ??? That is speak only used to try and scare people who have no knowledge of computers

This number, 202-765-1234, has called me multiple times stating there is something wrong with my computer and wanting to walk me through how to fix it.
When I express that I believe this is a scam, they cuss me out and hang up.
When trying to call the number back it says it is out of service.

Do not listen to these scammers and be sure to not give any personal information to them.

Just a bunch of low life scum bags. I put the phone down and let them wait on the other end while I make dinner, get a beer etc. I tell them my computer is old and takes a long time to reboot. I simply let them languish on the line like the loser he is

This number has called everyday for the past two weeks, and I simply do not answer it. I have been scammed in the past by crooks. They don't leave messages, and the first time it happened I could not identify the number. It has become annoying and intrusive.

I picked up the phone and the phone was ringing. Then all of a sudden, it cut over to a man's voice. I immediately knew it was a scammer calling. Every since I got this number, they call all the time.....I think the person who had this phone before me was veeeeeeeery gullible. Or a criminal. Either way, this time, as soon as he announced himelf, as being from some "Network Security" company, I cut in and said, "Please take my number off your list." You know how he responded?

"No!"

So I said, "Yes, please take my number off your list."

So he says "no" again, and again, and again, yelling it. I was flabbergasted. These people are not official organizations who do not honor the DNC list. WHEN THEY CALL, BLOCK THEM. I think calling them back puts your number back into their rotation too, so don't do that either. Also, if you do have a computer, this all started when I let my virus protection expire for a week. When I got the money to renew it the next week, I did. But in the meantime, I kept getting critical alerts and error messages that were freezing my laptop. I thought they were real and since I couldn't afford to lose everything, I called the number to have the fix it.

They've been calling ever since. So either through my laptop or the previous phone owner.

This guy called me saying he was getting messages from my computer that there was something wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with my computer I've been getting a lot of these calls from guys with Indian accents. I stayed on the phone with them for a little while to see what he wanted basically what they're looking for is for you to connect to their computer. I'm guessing once you connect to the computer you're pretty much screwed. The guy walked me through a process within the command prompt and read me off a number that is pretty generic that Microsoft uses but they do it as a way to trick you into believing them. It's obviously a scam don't connect to the computer and don't and give them any information.

What is with these scammers who keeps calling me when I don't want anything to do with them. When they called my cell number and I answered it a few minutes ago, they twisted this thing around and made it look like I called them. Then, it rung once and got disconnected. I'm sick of these [***] trying to play mind games me mind. I don't have time for this. I do not have time for scammers using my own complaint against me. I have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. What kind of number is this with a District of Columbia 202-765-1234 trying to harass me constantly?!?!?! I tried calling them back to see if I could get my number to be placed on the Do Not Call List, but nothing worked. I want my number to be placed on the Do Not Call list one way or the other.

When I answered there was a short as it connected me to an individual with a heavy Indian accent who introduced himself as Jack Smith. This was the second call I had received from this number today. The first time I did not answer, instead Google'ing the phone number. There I learned that others have encountered this and it was a scammer who told them he was calling about a computer problem.

Knowing this when he called back, I answered and let him guide me through his scam. He told me he was calling because of my computer problem. I said okay. He told me to go to my computer, turn it on, and "hold the Windows key on the lower left on the keyboard." Whenever I asked him any questions, even to patronize him, he would respond, "Sir? Hello?". Yet, if I just said "yes" or "okay," then he would continue on. He finally hung up on me after I was, apparently, talking too much. I don't know. :)
