Picked up in the middle of their leaving a message. It caused the message to quit in the middle of a case number after they stated I needed to call immediately. Probably another IRS scam call from a different number. This has a Washington DC prefix the other, most recent were San Diego. I blocked those so they switched numbers.

Caller name: Officer Lee

Caller type: Unknown

"Officer Lee" just called me and I googled the number he said I needed to call 202-803-4400 to clear up a lawsuit with Thomas O'Brien with the IRS. The number he called from was a legit number, Montgomery County Sheriff Office ( I googled that too). But it had a +1 before the number. I know that the only correspondence from the IRS would be through snail mail, so I figured it was a fraudulant call, but I let him finish. As other complaints describe, he gave a badge number and had a strong accent.
As I was typing this, I received another call from +1 911. I didn't answer.

Same as the others. Officer Lechander calling from the Kings County Sheriff 's office claiming that a complaint had been filed against me by Officer Thomas O'Brien working with the IRS. I needed to either call 202-754-8449 or turn myself into the nearest police station or be arrested. There were a number of red flags which i won't list out here since these scammer seem to be getting smarter looking back at the older posts and maybe reading and learning from posts from the potential victims. If you receive one of these call and have concerns CALL YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT DIRECTLY.

This person is representing a law enforcement agency along with a Government Agency. The IRS and the Durant County Sheriff's Department.
I was alarmed to hear words like arrest and surrender yourself to the officer. I knew I had no IRS debts or issues with any law enforcement agency.
This is a really terrible way for people to scam money from people.
Shame on them for using such scare tactics.
Sincerely,

They left a voicemail saying they were from the criminal investigation department of the IRS and I needed to call the office of Greg Martin. He had an Indian accent and said there was a deficiency on my income taxes that needed to be resolved right away. This number shows up as a scam all over the Internet. I'm reporting them to the FTC. If you call the IRS, the automated system says, while you're on hold. not to fall for numbers calling saying they are from the IRS. They always correspond through mail, not phone calls.

Rec'd a voicemail from a "Lee Chandler" of the Fresno County Sheriff's office. Same as previous notes, turn myself in or call "Officer Lee Chandler" at the IRS. First tip off was it was a rather heavy middle-eastern accent and didn't sound like a "Lee Chandler."

They seem to be using an app that allows them to use 'any number' as the calling ID. The number IS a county number, but no Sheriff's Dept. would call concerning an IRS complaint... #SCAM

Caller name: Lee Chandler & Thomas O'Brien

Caller type: Scammer/Fraudster

Got a voicemail from a Lee Chandler at 718-802-3545 from the Kings County police department. Lee Chandler's voice sounded like a robot and he stated that I owed taxes and needed to go to the nearest police department and turn myself in or call Thomas O'Brien at 202-754-8404 to resolve the issue or else I was going to get arrested. I tried calling the 718-802-3545 number back but I got a message that the number didn't exist. I then tried to call Thomas O'Brien at 202-754-840 but it just rang and rang. Called the IRS and waited 45mins without ever getting a rep to answer my call. After researching the number online I realized it was a scam but I was so stressed out dealing with these guys. Glad to know it's not real

Just received a call from a person with a strong foreign accent the "Delaware County Sheriff's Office" for a complaint against me , to call 202-754-8404. I called and was answered by same person who's name was "Officer Thomas O'Brien from the IRS" and they want me to pay back taxes (that I don't owe) or they were going to send the police to arrest me. I hung up.

Caller name: Lee Chandler, Brevard County Sheriff Badge #4927

Caller type: Unknown

OMG. I received the same call from a Lee Chandler but this time from Brevard County Sheriff's Office with a Badge Number 4927. He stated I have a formal complaint against me and that I should call a Officer Thomas O'Brien at 202.754.8404 and this is an IRS matter. I called the 202 number and it rang continuously and was very static filled. The scary thing is that the number on my caller id from "Lee Chandler" was in fact the real number for the Brevard County Sheriff's office. When I spoke to a real dispatcher and officer, I was told it is all a scam. The badge numbers are not correct and any kind of lien or judgement or whatever is always presented by a judge with a signed & sealed documentation. NOT A PHONE CALL.

Uh...I have no property, I file an ez 1040, I have all my tax returns, I have health insurance and have never been arrested.

Said they were from the Camden County Police Department and they were investigating IRS fraud. Gave an officers name and badge number. The caller's number was actually from the Camden County Police Department (don't know how they were able to do that). Caller said they were coming to our house to arrest us. I called our police department directly and they said this was a fraudulent call. I am now awaiting a phone call from our police department to file a formal complaint.

Caller Id Shows the number as Union Cty Government number (county next to mine) and that I need to turn myself in or call 202-754-8404 to talk to Steven White directly to resolve the IRS Issue. Figured it was a scam since asking me to call a different number out of the state.

Got a call from someone claiming to be an officer with my local sheriff's department, advising me that there was a federal complaint filed against me, and to either speak to an "officer" from the IRS named Steven Wright, or to turn myself in to my nearest sheriff's department. The phone number I was supposed to contact was 202-754-8404. It's a scam; the IRS doesn't call you about debts, and if the police have a warrant or complaint on you, they'll come get you. I filed an official complaint with the FTC.
