Caller name: Foreign accent/Indian decent
January 27th, received call from this number in regards to them wanting to give me $7,000 "without paying back". Once i asked their location, she said "United States government claims office". I then asked where it was located and got the reply of "Washington, DC". I then asked for her supervisor and was hung up on. Called back and a non working number.
Caller name: Kevin Peterson
Just got off the line with this guy "Kevin Peterson". I only answered because I am expecting phone calls from unknown numbers in order to discuss job opportunities in other states. This guy had an Arab accent and I believe he said his name was "Kevin/Kalvin Peterson". He advised me that based on a demographic survey of my area (which he got COMPLETELY WRONG by the way). He then provides me with the following information:
Grant Approval#: KV125
Need to contact Mgr at: 202.697.9274
Mgr Name: Lisa Raye
He stated that I needed to contact her and she would provide me with the details of this offer. I asked if this required a visit to Western Union and he replied No.
He then asked if I lived in Grand Prairie, TX and I replied 'No, I live in Frisco.' He then asked me to verify my zip. I told him that if he was calling from the US Government he should already have that information. He then moved on (because obviously he couldn't very well say that he wasn't actually the government) and asked me to verify my age so that he could be sure I was over 18. I told the liar I was 27 (wish I could turn back time that fast)... I then asked him if they could send all of this wonderful information to me on an official US Government letterhead (we do have the right to ask companies/entities to do that) and he said "Well, just contact the Manager and she will inform you of 'all that'." Got off the line with him and ran a Google Search and now I'm here posting this for any others who may have been contacted.
Caller name: ?
This is the 8th time that these idiots have called telling me that because I have no criminal record that I will receive a $7,000.00 grant from the U.S Gov. and how would I like to receive it , either through my bank account or in cash. I cussed out this mid-eastern accented woman and told her she would be reported. If you call back the # ,you get a recording that states her # does not receive call. SCAM!!!! BEWARE
Caller name: "Jose"
Says he is from the US Government Grant Department. I said Oh, really? And he hung up.
There is a reason why they don't try to be more believable. It's intentional.
They are looking for people who are not smart.
Same reason why you get the misspelled emails. They don't waste their time on anyone with a clue. Sad.
Caller name: No Name
This number calls my home phone often at least twice a week-There is never anyone on the line and when you call back you get a message stating the number is not reciving incoming calls at this time-How do you get this number to stop calling you?

Caller name: Would not answer
The man knew my first and last name. I was asleep when he called ( I would say a Middle Eastern accent), I answered and he asked if this was me and I said yes, then he asked "are you high?". Wth? Obviously this woke me up and I asked several time "who is this" and "what do you need"? He kept asking "is this (my name)? Then he started asking me EXTREMELY SEXUAL/ EXPLICIT questions!!!! I told him I was tracing the call and my phone was tapped. He abruptly hung up. I tried to call back and was unable to get through.
I just received a phone call from this number saying that I was picked to receive a $7000 government grant that I do not have to pay back. I was given a code to use when calling Fiona at 206-621-5429. You people can not hardly speak english and do not let anybody ask any questions, you just hang up. TIME TO GET A JOB AND QUIT TRYING TO SCAM PEOPLE!!!!! Verizon Wireless has been contacted with with this fraud #.

Caller name: no name
This number called me one time and there was dead silence. The thing is there are 3 numbers out of the DC area doing this. It needs to stop. Also it could be the government doing this by the order of our current President.
Caller name: Asian woman dident speak englishver well
tried to say that I was selected for $7,000 government grant and gave me a grant ID number to call back another number to get my application and grant sent to me via Express call the number the guy said he had to find my file I told him I would not be calling him back its a scam they want money do not give them any acct info or money that will rob u blind and u gave them permission
Called and claimed I had been selected by the US government to receive a $7000 dollar grant I didn't even apply for. Claimed to be calling from VA and couldn't tell me the department he represented and stumbled when telling me the grant name and why it was created.
I was told the same as others.... I was selected by the Gov't to receive $7000, but the 1st mistake made was they was telling me I live somewhere other than where I live. But none the less, when I started asking him questions, he was getting upset. I need someone to put a stop to this
