Your note is probably the best one ever left on any of these sites.

You should add: People with credit cards who get a credit card call should NEVER give out their credit card number. They SHOULD call their credit card issues and find out how to report the robo call.

I got several calls 8/16/12 from this number. I have stopped answering calls that I do not know. But on the 3rd call at 855 PM, I answered. Told the lady that I owed 20,000 on two cards.

Give me the 800 number she said
Let me get my wallet, I said.

Oops, I dropped my wallet. Then I needed my glasses. Then I read the 800 number.

Had some trouble reading the expiration date. She was salivating. I could hear her drool.

Whats the bank? Chase.
Whats the number? You mean the credit card number?
Yes Dont you have it already
No, We are a consolidating service working with lots of banks

Arent you with Chase No. We are a consolidating service.

But if you are calling me, why dont you already have my number? So this went on for a while, until I asked her for her company name.

Consumer Financial Service
"If I call Chase, will they tell me that you are working with them?" "Absolutely"

"Will you hold while I call Chase?" "Absolutely"

So I put her on hold. She hung up. I used 9 minutes of her time.

I called Chase. They told me to email the bogus phone numbers or emails to "fraudfile@chase.com" The really pleasant customer service man also told me that EVERY bank wants these numbers and emails. If you get one of these calls, call your issuing bank and find out how to file a complaint with them.

The phone companies and the FCC are not going to help out. I called AT&T and they basically told me that it is not their problem (plus they make money off of this with minute fees).

NEVER hand over your credit card number.

The Chase guy told me that they will transfer your balance to some new bank, maybe at a lower rate, and add some charge (maybe $900, he said) to your credit card for the "service fee."

Just got a call from 202-499-1488. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I've been getting these types of calls all week. Another mystery number, 236-444-4214 called me three times today!! I never answer because I don't recognize these numbers, and think that if its important enough then the person will leave a message. Callers from these numbers never leave a message. I think these calls are masked-- they are really from outside the US. I also think these calls are part of the current scam where they call you, hang up, then you call them back and they keep you on hold while charging you $$$. My suggestion: If you don't recognize the number, then don't answer it. If it is legit they will leave a message and you can then decide whether or not to call back.

Calls every day and leaves some ridiculous semi threatening message about how I need to lower my interest rate on a supposed delinquent credit card account before they take legal action. I have no such account. When I try to press "1" to speak with a rep, the phone disconnects. Obviously a scam, especially after reading the other complaints.

This # called and the automated system identified them as a credit collection...I stayed online to ask my # be taken off the list for I had no credit cards. A male came on the line and said I owed $3,000! He never asked my name, said hello, or nothing! I asked how he could say I owed that when he didn't even know who he was calling! He began talking dirty to me and told me I liked it! Ugh! I hung up!

i answered the phone and it said the whole automated deal about pressing 1 for a rep. when the rep came on i cut him off and started to say that they have been calling me numerous times and i have already been put on the dnc list. and he said " Quite your Bitching n***a!!!" and hung up on me like a coward. Tried calling back, but no luck. Seriously where is the police on this one. Where is our right to privacy or our right to justice.

A message comes on asking you to lower your interest rates. I wanted to speak with them to ask the caller to stop these annoying calls. We have received too many of these to count. When a woman came on the line, I asked her to please take us off her list. She was very rude. I asked for her name to report her, and she gave me my name as hers. She then asked if I wanted her ID #, when I said yes, she gave me my address. I looked up the phone # on-line. It gave her name as Dorothy Bailey, Washington DC. She must be getting credit card #'s from innocent people trying to lower their interest rates. So sad.

This number has called my home phone several time plus my cell phone. I don't answer it but the above is how it shows up on both. I believe it to be a scam and want it stopped immediately. No one speaks and after a 2-3 seconds there is a hang-up. If this is something the government is using then shame on them. I will not answer these calls and I will turn it into my Missouri Attorney General's office the next time I receive one of these calls. They come at all times of the day and night.

They call to test for valid phone numbers then sell them to telemarketers. The pitch is usually fake or nonexistant. Your voice and even your voice-mail message will give you away.

There are services similar to SlyDial that will not report the source phone number to your phone and can check your number by your voice mail without even ringing your phone! Scary, huh? Although SlyDial maybe an honorable company, you can start the forces working against you.

Don't answer numbers you don't recognize. If it is a valid call, a message will be left. Don't waste cell phone minutes. Create a voice mail note to contain your message and includes a modem tone (downloadable). The tone will (should?) trick the automated dialers to not save your number as it "believes" that a fax/modem (remember those?) picked up the call.

Although I now have fewer calls, don't know if this really works. I can only hope.

Would somebody please invent a reverse Bullet / Electrical jolt Apparatus that can be sent to destroy the Spam callers automated call. If enough of these devices were terminated the cost of replacing them might discourage the telemarketers. It is very obvious that the National Do Not Call Registry does not work! I haven't got the time to compose a complaint multiple times daily to the Attorney Generals Office, which I personally feel would fall on deaf ears!

202-499-1488 calls three to four times a week. Wasting their time was my first try to get my number off their list. (didn't work) Calling back their number (the one listed on caller ID) they will tell you that your number will be removed. (yea right) Next I said my phone was blinking low battery, I asked them to call back on my other number,, if was during business hours gave them a Law office number (pick one from the phone book) told them to ask for a name on the firm name. If it was after hours I gave them the none emergency number of the local police . Now When they call I ask how my application is going? Tell them you talked to Jerry a couple of days ago and he was working on it. They will either put you on hold and then hank up or come back on the phone and ask which ' Jerry" if you can get them to ask, tell them Jerry Sandusky.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

Mine was "Hi! This is Anne From Cardholder Services..." Average about 2

So here is the deal - one of the posters said call the FBI. I called the FBI.

Don't do that.

The FBI operators are rude, one, and two they will send you to the FCC, who will then forward you to the FTC. Which is awesome.

If you get a call from this number, do no answer. Simply deny the call (cell) or hang up. Then call the FTC @ 877-382-4357. I believe Option 3 is to file a complaint. They will take your complaint over the phone. Or you can do a yahoo search for filing a complain online. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST TO FILE A COMPLAINT.

At this stage, the guy I spoke with (Emelio) at the FTC said they have been getting FLOODED with calls. I hope that means that investigation is either pending or ongoing, but EVERY CALL helps establish a reason to investigate.

Remember, these guys can only keep scamming so long as they can keep running. They only keep running so long as the FTC has other priorities. These scammers only become a priority when they become the high call volume complaint at the FTC.

It'll take 6 minutes of your time. I timed it. And you get a sense of satisfaction.

Remember - thieves are cowardly rats. Not only is cowardice a sin, but these sinners hide in the shadows. It's up to you to bring them to light!

Call the FTC @ 877-382-4357.
