Caller name: Did not ask

Called me today - heavy accent - said he was calling about my computer - I immediately told him if he ever called me again I would track him down and destroy him. This is not the first call. Last time they called, a man told me that he was calling about a problem on my computer. I told him "yea right, I bet you are" and I hung up. I am on a no call list. Don't know how to stop this. Is there any recourse????

Caller name: thick accent

Thick accented caller claimed my PC was infected and was contacting their servers. I said which computer, my Linux Boxes?

Do you run Windows-7 ? Why good guess, I just happen to have a Win-7 PRO box. What about it?

I ended up just running his train of thought around a bush. So he ended up hanging up.

I'm sure he was after a credit card number of for me to browse to a cesspool.

Kiss off - can we put these criminals in a jail for LIFE !

Guy with a thick accent told me that a computer with my IP address was being hacked last night, and he was calling to help me fix the problem. I asked him what IP address he was referring to (we have 3 computers), but he could only tell me the one associated with my telephone number (??). I asked him what company he worked for and he said "Windows Best." I asked him if the problem involved PCs running Windows and he said yes. Since all 3 of our computers are Macs, I figured it was a scam and hung up.

Foreign accent male said he was from Microsoft tech help and was calling on my ticket. I said it was a while back, I think it was resolved, what was the issue? He said my computer had sent reports back to Microsoft and their team had analyzed them and was I at the computer to log in so the issue could be fixed? I said no, could he email the information, he again asked if I could log in to the computer now and I said no again. He hung up.

Tried to scare me into thinking my computer was being hacked. He had a heavy accent and said he was calling because according to Microsoft there were reports of hacking and that I should do something right away.

Caller name: hard to understand

Tried to scare me into thinking my computer was being hacked. Offered to clear the threats and then for a mere $100 service charge they would monitor it in the future. Very hard to understand.

Called telling me my computer had been hacked with malware. Gave me a 36 digit CLS ID to prove he was ligit. Name didn't match heavy Indian accent. I told him that I did not trust him and would not cooperate. He gave me the number 1-866-539-8674 to call back and said only ligit companies have toll free numbers. I almost laughed out loud. Anyone can get one of those. Bottom line, I don't know how they found me but I won't answer either of these numbers again.

Guy with heavy south Asian accent called, same c**p as mentioned in most of posts above. I acted stupid for a bit, let him try to convince me my PC has a virus [all Macs and Linux here], got to the point where I was telling him my keyboard didn't have a Windows symbol, just some squiggly line, then I turned it on him, told him I was named Lord Shiva and I would turn my trident of destruction toward the phone and use it on him, then told him to never call me again and remove my phone number from his list [not that I expect he'll do that], then hung up on him.

Aggressive man with heavy Indian accent started the computer problem scam. Told him that I had to make an adjustment to the computer and laid the phone down. He hung up after a couple minutes.

Why does the FCC not prosecute and shut these people down?
