Scam. Try to steal your passwords. WARNING.
An Indian guy claimed he worked for Telstra as a technician with ID as DT25256 & worked at 3/165 Miller st North Syd. When I asked his full name. He said it was John Brace. I was getting sceptical with his strong Indian accent and an English surname. The he wanted me to do some tests on my computer. He said my internet will be cut off in two hours - if I don't follow his suggestion. When I told him that I only rent tel line with Telstra and my internet with other company. He got angry and swore FXXX to me. 100% it is a scam call to fool people. I am worry our normal grand dad & mum who are not computer literate will be taking for a ride and may have their password or bank details being stolen. Hope gov can have means to stop such illegal act.

These are Indian scammers who keep on saying they are Telstra technical support. THEY are liars. Trying to get into your computer and hack details from you. When I asked them for evidence they are from Teltra he told me his name was Ryan Smith )with a heavy internet accent). I thought I'd play along and said I have problems with my phone line but he said he's only able to fix my internet. Hahaha.
So I called the "Telstra" number he gave me, this number and was given the same spiel that it was a Telstra technical department and they could only help with internet. Then I asked to be transferred to the dept that fixes the crackly phone line and he said he couldn't. I played innocent and said I need my phone line fixed etc etc. It was hilarious.

Just got a call and was put through to the technical department so they could fix my internet ( I knew it was a scam) I asked for the phone number to call them back on (as it came through private) and was given this number, I was told my internet needed to be turned off and we would be issued with a new IP address.
THIS IS A SCAM

Claimed to be from Telstra. Downloaded teamviewer on my neighbours computer then wanted to charge fee. Neighbour refused to give credit card details and caller got cranky. Told neighbour it was a scam, immediately shut down computer and take it to an expert to to have it checked and cleaned.

Claimed my internet had been hacked and she needed to access my computer to get further info about the hackers and to show me what they were doing. when told my service was not Telstra she reported that all internet connections go through Telstra. I was informed that my internet service was going to be disconnected at once for 6 months if I didn't provide access. Asked Angelina for her number so I could ring her back. This number was quoted. Checked with my internet provider who confirmed it was a scam.
