Caller (sounded to be East Indian) claimed to be from Microsoft and they received a memo that my computer has been hacked. Wanted me to sit in front of my computer and type in information so he could fix it. Kept him on the phone pretending to have problems with my computer. He became irritated. Told him I had to call him back. Reluctant to give me the phone number. Obviously a scam.
Its obviously a scammer. What's the point in just collecting complaints ?? Why don't you actually cancel this number or better yet file charges against the owners ??? Seems like everybody just wants to collect statistics instead of doing their jobs.
This guy called me this morning right after I opened the internet. He said there was a problem with my computer and showed me the viruses. After that he told me to to open a website and as soon as I did, he then had control of my computer! BAD IDEA!! Definitely a scam. As soon as he opened the command box I closed out of everything and turned off my computer. Unplugged the internet and he got really mad! He told me that since I did that the viruses would destroy my computer and he wanted to restart! He wouldn't give me a number and didn't let me talk to someone else. After a minute of going back and forth he hung up and tried calling two more times. DONT ANSWER THIS CALL!!!!
"Michael" called numerous times over the last couple of days. I finally had enough and called him out. After hanging up "Michael" called back and immediately started cursing at me. I hung up on him and he called back a couple of more times. SHADY!!!
This morning, a guy claimed to be from Microsoft & the call is to protect me from hackers doing their illegal activity from my computer. He didn't like it that I wasn't going to go to my computer & do what he wanted. I wasn't about to. He said he would call back Monday. However, he has called again this afternoon. But I let it ring. Something similar happened a couple months ago & the police advised me to call the Attorney generals office & they advised me to call the Federal trade commission as well.
