Haven't got any of these calls for a while I guess they have started again! They want to lower interest on my credit cards, only thing, I have never had a credit card! I always tell them I am on the No Call list to stop calling but they just call all the more. Seems like someone would file a class action lawsuit against them like someone finally did against the Home Security people that kept calling! That put a stop to them!! Take a few million out of their pocket and get them where it hurts and maybe they will leave us alone!!!
I receive these calls to "reduce the rate on my current credit card." I pushed the button to talk to someone and as soon as I ask why I am getting these calls since I do not own a credit card they hang up. This makes believe these people are trying to get people's personal information to scam them out of money in some way. I've put my number on a do not call list in the past, but I still receive "scam calls."
Caller ID comes up as "Jersey, New"
This number calls my office every day. Sometimes I pick it up, sometimes I don't and it hangs up after three rings anyway. When I do pick it up, it's a hang up. I saw something posted the other day about a different phone number, and I can tell you it works...When the scammers call you and IF they actually start to talk to you, say to them "As part of an ongoing investigation by the State's Attorney, I'll need your business name, your name and employee number and return call phone number..." funny how fast THEY hang up!!
"Your Credit card rates have changed due to the new ECONOMIC Stimulus Package, etc." When you talk to a live person and ask to be taken off their CALL LIST they immediately slam down their receiver. This has been going on for several months. They have been reported to DONOTCall.gov and the FTC.
