I live in Canada. Tonight on My ID caller: 971-217-9514 from Oregon, I got a call from a supposed Windows technician named Kevin. He had an East Indian accent. He told me he was from Windows support and he was phoning about my computer. He knew my name. I told him I did not have a computer, whereupon he ended the call. I have had this same type of call from the same scammers using a different number. They have often called me daily for 2 months. It's certainly a swindle. Sometimes they call me to tell me I have a virus on my computer. If they call you, just say you do not have a computer. My main concern is that they have my name. I am wondering if they got my details by hacking into something.
The person identified herself as "Jennifer". She had an East Indian accent and said she was with Windows operating system technical division. She said they were connected with the "main router" and that they could see messages that indicated that the computer had viruses. They wanted me to go on my computer so they could do something. At that point I hung up. The call came in on my cell phone.
These people have called me several times. Everytime I tell them to take me off their calling list. And everytime they talk over me and disregard everything I say. Just spent 10 min yelling at them to take me off their call list and telling them I did NOT want them to explain why they are calling and asking to speak to a manager. I know this is a scam. I just wish they would stop calling all the time.
Male caller with an Indian Accent called indicating that he was calling from Windows Technical Dept from Microsoft. He mentioned something about receiving an error report from my computer. I told him that I did not have any problems with my computer and no error reports were sent. He wanted me to log into my computer so that he could check something. I asked him for his phone number and he gave me the following number indicating that it is their USA Helpline: 239-676-6474 I asked that he not contact me again.

Accented individual phoned 10:30AM this morning claiming my computer was sending error messages to Windows support. The background (callcenter) noise would indicate he called from some boiler room. When asking specifics about his location was told Manchester, UK. When I started asking more probing questions (where did he get my name, mailing address, etc) from he got verbally abusive and I hung up. Beware of any stranger or "company" who call you unsolicited and ask for private information or access to your computer!
I got a call tonight at 9 p.m. A man with an Indian accent called me by my name telling me that the Microsoft is getting lately messages about hackers entering my computer. I was gullible enough letting this person into my computer. I was made believe that this person is working for the Microsoft. He thanked me for my faithfulness to the Windows. He said he represented a C.L.S.I.D. team (standing for Compliance License Security Identification. This man asked me to run several programs indicating that 95% of my disc is invaded by spyware. That the spies inform hackers who can take money from my bank account, etc. He then put me into hands of another man with the same accent. He said he would remove from my computer all the danger and for annual fee of US $60, he would give me full time support and protection. He asked me for “the plastic” to pay. I bailed out at this point, fearing that it is too late that they have already invaded my computer. I believe that this was ‘just’ a fraud and not hackers. I hope. I asked for the person’s name and was given “Brad Williams” from England. Can be reached on 209-732-5572. This group gave me also its name as Anti-hacking Department Windows.
Same as others, East Indian supposedly calling from Microsoft or Windows. I asked where he was calling from, he said Ontario, I said that's odd because it says Oregon on my call display. Same spiel as the others who posted, apparently my computer is sending them error messages. I said that Microsoft had never called me before, he said the messages were new. Definitely not legit.
Same as other calls. Today, a fellow with an East Indian accent who calls himself Peter, says he's with Windows/Microsoft and they're getting error messages from my computer. I did not engage him in conversation, just hung up. He has not yet called back.
Heavy accent saying they were alerted to viruses on my computer. They said that my Windows program was sending alerts to them. I asked if they were from Microsoft. They said, no that they were the technical support division with Windows. I said I would need to call them back. He gave me 415-830-8699 to call back, although call came from 971-217-9514
Same as above - male caller with Eastern Indian accent insisted that I must talk to him about my Windows computer. When I told him my number was on Do Not Call list, he kept trying to tell me that he can see viruses from my computer and it was not protected...I hung up.
Tried to convince me there were errors on my PC. I played along to see what he was up to. I unplugged my router because he knew my name and address. We continued, I was skeptical. We looked through Computermanagementsystem and saw errors....Duh Then he suggested since there were more tha 10 "RED" errors that Technical Dept. needed to connect to my PC. I laughed and said "That's NOT gonna happen." then he hung up. That is when I googled the telephone # 971-217-9514 with TOP GOOGLEPAGES on the Caller ID Screen.
Man with Indian accent asked if I am the owner of a computer in this house. I asked who was calling. He gave his name and explained that he represented Windows, and there were a number of errors coming from my computer. If I would log on to my computer, he would help me, etc... I asked for his number and he hung up. Of course, I HAVE his number----"not in service, Pacific Telecom Group".
