I've started receiving calls every day from machine recorded John Spencer with a case number saying if I don't resolve the issue within 48 hours, they will take legal action with the county I live in. I have no plans on calling them back unless it's to mess with them.
I called and acted like I was going to go through with it, they said I owed capitol one 1400 and to keep it from going to court we can settle it. I said lets take it to court because I only have the one acct and I a current... she said let me get my manager...the manager gets on the phone and said a different amount from the lady then he got an attitude when I said lets go to court and hung up on me.
Caller gave the name of John Spencer representing "Arbitration Resolution". The message noted I had 48 hours to resolve a dispute with a county not specified directly and gave me a case number to use when calling another number noted as 888-278-8565. The caller claimed I possibly had litigation pending against me. Clearly, this is a scam since I was not called by my name and the county suing me was not indicated. Just a scare tactic to get someone to call the number that you will probably get charged for using. I called the 214 number and had to leave a voice mail and have yet to receive a return call.
I just got a call/voice message on my cell phone from a man who said he was an arbitrator and I had a claim against me. The message said I had 48 hours to call 888-278-8565 to discuss resolution or that the claim would be turned over to the county that I resided in. Received the original call from area code 704 in North Carolina. What a nasty scam.
I get an automated message today telling me that I have 48 hours to respond regarding a possible litigation against me. I do Not owe anything to a credit card company or a loan company. I deal with my Credit Union and that is it. I will call this scammer back tomorrow and tell him that I know he is a Fraud.
I received 2 robot calls from 888-278-8865, (Arbitration Resolutions) with them leaving a message and a ref. number. I called the number, gave the ref. # and spoke to a guy who would not give me much info. I asked if they had a website as I was on the computer looking it up, he said "call me back when you find it". I did find a website for Arbitration Resolution Services Inc. Called them at a different number 1-888-934-1777 gave the woman the ref. #, she then said I have the wrong number and that she has had MANY people calling this # with the same issue. I called 888-278-8865 back and spoke to a woman who told me the guy I spoke to was busy and to call back, but after I insisted she talk to me, she finally told me her company was hired by a credit card company to collect a 1500.00 debt from me from 2007. I told her I did not owe anyone and asked again what year, she then gave me 2005, 2002, 2008.???? Being aggravated in trying to find out which year it was, she finally hung up on me. I called back and spoke to yet another woman, told her my phone died and I was just trying to get their address. she gave me:
Arbitration Resolutions 970 Carillion Dr. St. Petersburg Fl. 33716. I told her that I knew this company is a scam and that if they contact me again, I will get my lawyer to sue them for harassment. I did a reverse look-up at Whitepages.com for this address and nothing came up. I checked my credit report for free @ www.annualcreditreport.com and did NOT find a debt from ANY company. I have since put a block on my credit and have been told to contact the attorney general in my state.
This guy and others like him have been calling for months. I ran a credit report (still have it with Equifax running monthly) and my score is still very good. with no debts, no open accts, no past dues. Scared . . . of course. I even hired a lawyer. One guy threatened to serve me papers. Incoming numbers include 415 and 507 area codes.

Got the call from John Spencer, women stated that I owed them over $1000 for a credit card in 2002. I never had this credit card! She almost got me though because she knew my social security number! When I told her I needed to investigate further she told me I had 1 minute or they would see me in court and hung up on me!
I had the same calls as everyone else above. I called ALL the numbers listed for these people BUT I'm guessing the reason no one answered on any of them was due to the fact I had my numbered blocked. I don't understand why these shisters are still getting away with this, Won't any of the watch dog groups do anything? Guess not.
The original numbers on my caller id was 786-358-5218 and 786-350-3247
There was a message from the infamous John Spencer. He had a case number and said I must respond in 48 hours or they will take action in my residing county.
I was instructed to call 1-888-278-8565. When I did , I was answered by some woman who told me my 9 year old credit card debt was going to be collected by the Internal Revenue Service...and also I was facing wage garnishment .
Not only is this a scam, but the scammers are dummies. .not even believable .
Do not fall for this. THERE IS A STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS on debt collections . Check your state. The time varies.....my state is Florida. In florida after 5 years have past since your last payment....you can no longer have legal action taken against you. So John Spencer. Go f**k yourself!!!
I recieved the same harassing call today claiming I had 48 hours to return the call or I could be sued. The man's name was David Jenkins from Arbitration Resolution. He called from 1-616-604-2567 but the automated message on my voicemail told me to call 1-888-278-8565. I called back from my corporate work number so they wouldn't know who I was & I very calmly asked for a name & mailing address for the company so I could research them with the BBB. David got very irritated with me & demanded that I give him my case number. I told him that if he was from a legitimate company that he should have no issue providing me with some simple information. He replied very defensively "How would you feel if someone randomly called you asking for your personal information?!? I'm not giving you anything until you idntify who you are" I told him that wasn't going to happen & he hung up on me.
Same "Arbitration Resolution" Fraud as everybody else has written about. Called from a local 801 exchange, and with the same 1-888-278-8565 call-back number with a 2014-xxxxxx case number. Today is President's Day, so the Attorney General for the State of Utah's office is closed, Tomorrow I'll call them. Somehow these people need to be stopped, and I'm sure there is a way to do it. A legitiment collector would also send a letter as proof of contact since a phone call is hard to prove and is easily deniable So if you call them, see if they will send out a letter but don't hand out your address. Legit's would already have that info.
