I received a call from Todd Durbin from National Premium at 855-545-7293. Like many others with different toll free numbers, this regarded a contest I had entered for $25,000 sometime in the last year to year and a half. They wanted to verify my information. I did call back because I was curious. Was put on hold and I hung up. I do not trust this company. Don't give out your information!! I'm going to stop entering these stupid contests. They're all rip-offs!!!!
Received a call today Oct. 29,2013 at 2:35 CST from National Service (Awards Verification Department), A man named Todd Durbin stated that he was calling about an entry that was made in the last year- to year and a half for the $25,000 cash giveaway. He stated that he had the entry in his hand and that we needed to call 1-855-545-7293 to verify that all of the info was still correct. On caller ID the phone number was 1-708-248-7519.
I too received not one but two calls today that were picked up by my answering machine. The message for each call was the same. It was from someone who called himself Todd Durbin of the "Awards Verification Department" who was calling regarding an entry for a $25K cash award that I submitted a year to a year and a half ago. Let it be known, I don't submit entries of this sort--EVER! Anyway he wanted me call back to verify the information on the entry and closed by "congratulations!" Although this person's message said to call (855) 545-7293 at the very earliest possible moment, my phone caller ID equipment said he was calling from (312)327-0508. How do we stop this stuff???
Received call on cell phone from 708-441-3679. Did not pick up and waited for the message. The callers name was cut off from the beginning and was not restated - assume it was Todd Durbin like the others. The speed and deftness of the caller almost sounds pre-recorded. Was told to call 855-545-7293 to verify a $25K award from a contest I entered "about a year ago." If this was for real I expect they would indicate which contest. Did not call back but decided to research a bit and post my experience here. So much for control over my cell phone.
I had a message on my answering machine that asked me to call 855-545-7293. The caller identified himself as Christopher Morgan who said that I needed to verify my information in response to a contest I had entered to win $25K. The name of the contest wasn't mentioned. Chris added an enthusiastic, "Congratulations!". Hmmmm? I also checked my caller ID log and the call was made from 312-488-1853. That number belongs to Trent Brook. I always check these things first and here I am. I won't be calling back.
Message on my answering machine. I do not have caller ID. Purportedly from "Christophe Morgan", from the "Awards Notification Department" about a contest I had entered "sometime in the last 18 months" and I needed to call and verify my entry. Vague. No mention of the name of the contest or the company. Anybody know what this scam is all about?
Todd Durbin left a message that I had won $25,000 from a recent entry and needed o call back in order to verify my information was correct. Anything that he already had, should have been enough information to verify accuracy. Give me a break. I never answer phone calls that do not provide their name on my phone.
I actually called twice, because the first time Mike asked my name and I said, you called me on this phone number, so you should have that information. He identified the company as NATIONAL PREMIUM SERVICES then transferred me to a message that told me to leave my first and last name and my phone number. I promptly hung up and called back, this time I got Michelle and she asked my name- I gave her my boss' name- they called my work number. And then I gave her the cell number she had called. She said - this is a cell- what is your home phone number. I didn't give that out, duh...Then she asked for my address- I said it should be on the form I filled out. Where did I fill it out? She said Walmart or Target or Home Depot. I told her she was a liar, and this was a scam and she hung up on me.
Like the others, I got a recorded message - but from a Pierre (oo la la) - telling me that I should call back to verify some information from a nameless $25,000 giveaway I had entered sometime in the last 1.5 years. Ended the message with "congratulations." Needless to say, I won't be calling this number anytime soon!
After reading all these I assume it was a scam. Got a call this AM from a Todd Derment. Not sure if that is the correct spelling. "Saying I won $25,000.00 for a contest I entered a year to year and 1/2 ago. Need to verify your information make sure it is still good. Please call 1-855-545-7293 ASAP." Yet caller ID says Chicago, ILL 312-625-1410. They also ended the call saying "Congratulations"...You would think they would know the name of the person whom they are calling. Wish it was true but knew it was too good to be...
Received two phone calls. A prerecorded Message from Pierre. Voice sounded very trustworthy, but said left the same vague message about entering a contest a year to a year and a half ago. The Number on caller ID did not agree with the number left. This is obviously a scam. I do not think the caller knows the names of the people being called.
I also had a call from Todd Durbin with the Awards Verification Department of National Premium Services. Said I'd won $25,000. Out of curiosity I called the number. A voice mail asked if I knew my parties extension (no, none was given) & told me to hold on if I didn't. I hung up. Don't have caller ID so don't know what number the original call was from. Another scam. Too bad they can't be shut down.
Same thing; phone message from Todd Durbin for a $25k prize. Found this message board before calling them, but I called back on my cell instead of the landline they'd called (thanks, all!). Todd Durbin was not "in the office" and I got to speak to "Michelle" who claimed to be the Director. I told her I would enter another post on this board about their scam and so here it is. Glad this site exists, keep up the good work folks :)
I got the call too!
"Pierre" called from the Awards Notification Dept. claiming he wanted to verify my information on a $25,000 dollar Giveaway contest I had entered around a year or a year and a half ago! I have entered NO contest of any kind concerning a fixed dollar amount this large in my life! DO NOT call back. Do not provide ANY personal information. I DO NOT respond to this ****! This is the second call within a week from this Joker who finishes by saying "Congratulations" If I DID win anything, I'd expect the truck and balloons to show up in my driveway with the big surprise!! Still nothing!! What a planet!!
I too received a call today that was picked by my answering machine. The message for me is the same. It was from someone who called himself Todd Durbin of the "Awards Verification Department" who was calling regarding an entry for a $25K cash award that I submitted a year to a year and a half ago. I knew it was a scam. I immediately Google the phone number (855) 545-7293 and then I saw all the reviews posted. I deleted the message from my answering machine. By the way; Todd wanted me to return the call (855) 545-7293 at the very earliest possible moment, my phone caller ID equipment said he was calling from (312) 625-1424. How do we stop this stuff???
